    Philips 50pfp5332d/37 Y Sustain problem

Philips 50pfp5332d /37 has a problem with Y Sustain. Chassis number is EJ3.0U PA, panel is PP50HW028A Power supply powers up and output voltages are close to voltages listed on panel with exceptions that I will note here. Power supply, small signal board and X/Y interconnect board all have green solid LED's and interconnect board also has one green flashing LED. I am not sure what the voltage tolerances are but I may adjust them using the pots on the boards once I get things figured out. No bulges, leaks or other visible damage to any capacitors on any of the boards.
    Panel label-----Actual meas.
    Va 63V 61V
    Vsc -190V
    Vs 205 200V
    Ve 94V 104V
    5V2 5.3V 4.99V
    5V_SW 5.3V 4.99V
    12V 12.4V 11.87V
    SND_P 17V
    SND_N -17V

Y sustain board shows immediate issues. Incoming glass fuse is blown, small green fuse (looks like a resistor) is not blown. Control chips on output board show extreme damage from heat or overcurrent or overvoltage. A couple appear to be nearly blown apart. I wish I knew chicken and egg here because I don't want to blow another set of Y boards by just replacing them and a fuse if there is another power issue on the board. Am looking for advice from the experts here on what I should replace on the main Y board. Replace the large green capacitors? Looks like most of the caps are the original Samwah brand.

Pictures posted show overview of the Y boards, closeups of burned controller IC's, blurry close up of Y board fuses, interconnect board with LED marked that is flashing.

Re: Philips 50pfp5332d/37 Y Sustain problem

i will check the FETs on both X and Y sustain boards, not sure if I am up to attempting repairs on the buffer board though with the surface mount buffer IC's.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Philips 65PUS8518/12 distorted image after main board replacement
      by tuner2000i
      hello everyone,

I don't normally do tv repairs but this is a case with my personal TV which got fried together with many other electronics in my house after a thunderstorm.

The TV is a Philips 65PUS8518/12 which had no power. I measured and concluded that the main board was probably fried through ethernet or hdmi. I found a board with same number 715GD328-M0F-B00-005Y (I had G) but from a 55PUS8518. The TV starts but the image is doubled, distorted. I need to set the panel code which is 016 according to the sticker on the back but I can not seem to do it.

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
      by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
      • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
      • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Activate power board Philips 40PFH40009/88 tv
      by spantor
      Hello partners.

Could someone tell me how to make this Philips TV source work without the mainboard being connected? The model of the board is EAX65423701 (2.1) and the model of the Philips TV is 40PFH40009/88.
The TV is dead, there is no standby light, however there is a voltage of 12v on the pins ( included 12v VAU ) and 3.2v on the PS-ON pin (see photo) when the power board is connected to the main board. If I disconnect both boards I only get 8 volts on 12v pins. I would like to rule out a fault in the main board by making it work, but so far no one has been able to tell...
