hello, this sony kdl46ss4100 has me stumped, it has a solid green power light, which goes on and off with remote, but there's no picture just black screen, no menu, nothing, while checking it, I discovered that when I unplug cn303 which is bl on etc., I get red then green then blue then red green blue striped screens in a loop, I think it's stuck in burn in mode but can't see a menu to adjust, when I plug cn303 back in it goes back to black screen, have tried unplug and replug power, have tried 3 different a boards 2 different tcons and 2 different power suppys, meaning same board models just that many boards, all were from where a lot of techs. tell folks to shop at, not new boards but were guaranteed, haven't tried an inverter board but it just didn't seem like the problem, thanks.

You must make sure the TCON and main boards can work with your panel model.
So they all can be good but just not compatible or you just tried a wrong combination (wrong version main but right TCON or vise versa)

But this model it seems all mains should work and there are about 14 different TCONS that will work with it as well.

What is your panel model?

its LTZ460HB10, tried these tcons one is original other is not, number on white sticker: K220468B08EE 010886 AND E2204P8J09ZB 012935, plus tried one other that was sent back, thanks for the help.

So do you have backlight without disconnecting that connector? (I suppose you do when you do disconnect?)
Could you take pics of the colored lines? and the back of the TV (all the boards in other words)

no, no backlight when plugged in, will try to do pictures if I can figure out how to upload, I have/tried the 2204p and 2204g both act the same.

I am suspecting your main but the lines may be a clearer indication.

Use the manage attachments feature to upload. Files cannot be greater than 2mb or 2k x 2k I believe.

I can't seem to get a good picture, I think it's this cheap camera, not enough focus but I don't see any obvious burns or bad caps etc.

That model has 2 versions (incompatible - not interchangeable) of main "A" board and Power "G" Board, and 3 possible panels, all with different T-Con boards. 2 versions of the panel are interchangeable with each other, one is not.

I'm guessing you may not have correct versions of boards/have a mis-matched boards problem.

ok, good info., I have gotten the same symptoms with each combo I've tried so far, do you think it would have done anything different?

Did you keep track of EXACTLY which boards were the originals from the set?

I've tried two i 857 092 41 11 boards, now have two 41 boards, tried both the 41 boards with the two tcons I have that are 2204g and 2204p, I sent the two 11 boards back and another tcon that I tried, get the same exact symptoms with each combo, I can put the full number of the boards if you need it, thanks for the help.

the originals are 2204P and 5571H01411G, a strange thing on the 41 A board they sent me, it has two extra capacitors by the cable out connector.

with cn303 bl on unplugged I get backlights with the red green blue screens flashing, plug it back in and just get black screen, can't get a menu to adjust, seems like it's stuck in test mode.

also have't tried a different lvds connector cable but I got 12 volts at the tcon side.

Well what I provided all have used the panel model given.

But I do think there is a combination issue at hand.
Could we get pics of the screen (colored lines) please?

And why wouldn't the other psu's work? Different pinout?

A good question to ask too....are all the voltages in respect to their legends?

And, is it possible to see a pic when you turn the TV ON? (Since you said there was no backlight and flashlight or lightsource is needed)

If so, the balancer board (inverter) needs replacement since it is not sending a feedback signal and the main is telling it to shut off (or no BL_ON command) otherwise the fact you have lines appear on the screen indicates the TCON is probably functioning correctly (but that is why I want to see them) and so if none of the above, focus on the main (as said earlier).

just a black screen with cn303/bl on plugged in, can't see anything with flashlight, no menu, just black. With cn303/bl on unplugged, no lines, just the solid red green blue and r g b w striped screen, that is the test mode it's stuck in, I guess, can't hardly get pics. of screen it has no base and unstable to move with back off, thanks.
