I have this tv . When I turn it on , one third screen on the top gets line like picture. After a few minutes warming up the tv, the line becomes solid strap black line. does anybody has any idea what causing this issue? any loose connection or inverter board issue?

Re: LG 42LG20-UM Hirizontal line & Solid line
This is a bad LCD panel - most likely tab bonds - may be fixable. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: LG 42LG20-UM Hirizontal line & Solid line
I opened the LCD panel and put some double sided tape on each ribbon connection. This tv used to have half right side panel black problem. Warmup used to fix this dark half screen.
Now after I put those tape on each ribbon, the old issue is not there anymore , now all I get is this horizontal line on the top.Comment

Re: LG 42LG20-UM Hirizontal line & Solid line
Half right side panel black can be Logic board or connectors to this board. Try removing ribbon cables and clean them or just reset them (reinstall) Ensure they are sitting flat and are not crimped or squashed in any way. Also remove oily block from underneath board and aim it at the rubbish bin.Comment

Had a Toshiba with same right half-side would go black AFTER warmup, was tab bond issue and that was fixable but still had 2-3 small vertical lines in screen..Comment

by rouninHi everyone,
I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.
🛠 Original Issue
The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.
I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

by TechnomancerI have a 2DS that I am working on that has a problem reading SD cards. It knows that card is in the slot (which, means the detect pin is working anyway) but it says it can’t read the card.
Here is what I have done so far:
-Tried SD card in another 2DS and on PC, works great.
-Tried piggybacking another SD card slot (just so I didn’t have to take the other one off), same issue.
-Compared voltage drop readings from a working 2DS to the faulty one. All reads are very close except one, the 7th pin from the left, with the pins closest to you, which I believe... -
by cajoegHello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.
The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV... -
by sam_sam_samI found two capacitors on the board and one of the leads on one capacitor had bad soldering joint and the other joint connections not much better and there were several soldering joints that way to much flux around the joint redid several of them
The capacitors were a non brand that I did not recognize they got replaced and now it does not oscillating between relay but what concerns me a little bit is when the voltage is a little bit low the output voltage is around 130 volts and then drops down to 115 volts this happens around 105 to 108 volts if remember correctly

by ugamazingI have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!
We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre... - Loading...
