'fraid not. The voltage across each component remains the same.

Re: My guide to buying Non-Working LCD & Plasma TV's
Wow, opposite problem here. Twice yearly we have free council rubbish pickup. Every household can throw out a trailor load of rubbish that's picked up for free to reduce or eliminate the amount of illegal roadside dumping that was (and still is) occurring. The scrap collectors are happy, as are tv collectors. On average in my neighbourhood there is usually half a dozen sets
LCD/Plasma and a dozen or more CRT's. I'll pick some up if I'm familiar with them but leave crap brands Hisense, conia, celestial...

Re: Quick Diagnosis video of PS43D450
I've always thought constructive criticism was a good thing. It helps us improve.
I've copped heaps over the years and I'm grateful for it. If everyone tells you "fantastic job" are you going to try and improve the quality of the presentation or will you think 'great, everything's perfect?' Not hating here, just saying.
EDIT: what I said was tongue in cheek and not meant to be taking seriously.Last edited by jamesharris; 01-15-2013, 06:08 PM.

Re: Quick Diagnosis video of PS43D450
Spielberg just rang and wants a motion sickness pill and he's whingeing about sore eyes from poor lighting, but apart from that he said good job.

Re: My guide to buying Non-Working LCD & Plasma TV's
Never had a problem laying them down but always transport them in a vertical position. You may have had a weak panel to start with. I had one crack internally once. No sign of external impact, just a big crack appeared out of nowhere underneath the glass. I put it down to a weak panel and scrapped it....

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ700Uv Momentary Sound and Picture then 7 blinks. Is it possible
If that set is around 5 yrs old it should apply, unless I'm wrong about the age.

Re: LG 42LG20-UM Hirizontal line & Solid line
Half right side panel black can be Logic board or connectors to this board. Try removing ribbon cables and clean them or just reset them (reinstall) Ensure they are sitting flat and are not crimped or squashed in any way. Also remove oily block from underneath board and aim it at the rubbish bin.

Re: Sharp LC46LE600E Cant get back off.
LOl, sometimes they like to hide one under a sticker just for the lulz. I can't recall any secret latches on that one. Post a pic of the back cover and it might jolt my memory or someone else's.

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
Ya, ok. The psu is identical to others previously posted in this thread. The original fault was NP/NS. I recapped the board (power supply) as I have done previously but this time I inadvertently took a few caps out without noting where they came from. I'm pretty sure they're all back in their right spots but I'm missing the 6v rail. No schematic is available for this model and it's difficult to trace the tracks.
I've been in and around electronics for the past 20yrs and have a tertiary qualification ( electronic...

Re: LG 42 Plasma TV 42PC3D No picture Yes sound
Red speckles can be an aging panel. Do they disappear as the set warms up? First thing to do is adjust one of three pots on Y SUS board. Can't remember which one. One is called setup and there are two others nearby. Slowly turn each one until you see them (speckles) reduce. I think a side effect of this is a reduction of resolution so it's a bit of a compromise depending on the age of your set....

Re: LG 37LC2D No picture, believe bad power supply
Would someone be able to post the cap values at the board locations? I need to double check I've put mine back in the correct spots. I'm missing the 6 volt rail and want to eliminate a wrong cap b4 I proceed any further. I have a service manual for this model but it must be a different chassis. The caps are not the same for the board locations.Last edited by jamesharris; 12-27-2012, 07:19 AM.
