    Issue with 50PC3d LG

Hi all, this is my first post, regarding an issue with mine LG 50PC3D.

Here is a video of the issue.

    And some pics also!

Need some help diagnosing the problem, read some about Z sustain, Y etc...

    Looks like power source?

    Thanks in advance.

Just a little bit more information.

The issue started with some red pixels flickering on the screen only visible if looked closely.

Then after a few months, got no brightness from time to time.

Now it is like that all the time.

Doesnt smell bad, no smoke no loud noises.

          very disencouraging... Z sustain board is about $179.00 + 139.00 shipping = $318.00 + 70% import taxes and fees, +- $318.00 + $210.00 = $528.00, here in Brasil i can get a new 50" for about $800.00.

I would really appreciate more opinions!

It is possible to replace the IPM (integrated power module, also known as hybrid) for close to $30. But it requires very good desoldering equipment.

is this the power supply? any easier to replace the whole power supply?

No, it is a component on the Z-sustain which fails.

It contains an array of MOSFETs and IGBTs (power transistors.) Unfortunately, due to it being an IPM, you cannot replace the individual components, the whole module must be replaced.

This is definitely a Z-sustain failure. The panel is not being discharged and sustained properly.

so, the part to be replaced is the Z sustain board?

could you please confirm if this is the board we are talking about?

That is a board for a Pioneer plasma TV and will not be suitable.

You should replace the device under the large heatsink on the Z-sustain board. The picture you linked to is a similar board, X-sustain is same as Z-sustain. On an LG plasma the Z-sustain is on the right hand side of the plasma panel, looking from the rear.

Please find out the z-sustain board part number in your TV before search the ebay.
The z-sustain is in the right side of your tv (from back).

But it is not the right board. That is for a Pioneer plasma TV. Pioneer made their own plasma panels a few years ago, along with custom drive electronics. It is completely different and will NOT work.

Ok, just disassembled the TV and noticed some stuffed capacitors on the power board (at least i think it is the power board!
Please check the 2 pictures. one are the 3 stuffed capacitors the other one is the Z sus board with the right part number "6870QZC004B".

So the question is, could the issue be the power board? part #6709900020A.

                                    Thanks for the patience guys!

                                      That's the power board, yes.

You have a very common issue with this set which is failed capacitors.

But they are not yet giving trouble because the Z-sustain is the actual failed part. They would however cause problems in a few weeks to months ahead of time, so they should be replaced as well.

Your picture is of the Z-sustain and the IPMs are under the large heatsinks.

I live in Brasil, very expensive shipping rates and extremely high import fees and duties... i am talking about 110% aproximately!

The board is like $83 + $35 shipping ( the lowest i found on ebay) plus 110% on import fees, taxes and duties, we will talking about $250.00, should i repair this monster, 720p, 6 years old, or go for a new set, with 1080p, 3d and the works, for about $1000?

                                        Any inputs would be great.

                                          by MakNCheese
                                          Hi everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with my ASUS Zephyrus GA401I (4 years old, worked perfectly until recently). The system is lagging heavily, even in the BIOS, and is charging extremely slowly (a few percent in hours), making it nearly unusable. I suspect a motherboard or power delivery issue.

                                          Symptoms:
                                          • Severe lag across the system, including BIOS navigation.
                                          • Slow boot times and unresponsive performance in Windows.
                                          • Battery charges very slowly (e.g., ~5% in 2–3 hours).
                                          • No error messages or BSODs, just extreme sluggishness.

                                          What I've Tried:
                                          • Replaced
                                          ...

                                          Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad P43s. The laptop does not power on when the internal battery is connected, but it works fine on AC power alone (battery disconnected). Once the battery is reconnected, the system becomes completely unresponsive — no lights, no fan spin, nothing.

Here's what I've tried so far:
                                          • Power/EC reset (held power button for 60 seconds with battery and AC disconnected)
                                          • Booted successfully on AC power only with the battery disconnected
                                          • Visual inspection of the battery — no swelling, burn marks, or connector damage
                                          • Battery
                                          ...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
                                          by rounin
                                          Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

                                          🛠 Original Issue
                                          The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

⚠️ New Problem: One USB-C Port Only Works in One Orientation...

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
                                          by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

                                          Acer laptop battery draining issue
                                          by ahmarzo
Have a acer laptop ex215-22 with motherboard part no daz8emb18a0 the issue is the battery gets drain overnight upto 25-30 percent even when switched off / shutdown.even after ssd is removed and laptop off with button the battery keeps draining.i have updated the bios but same issue have tried another new battery and the charging works fine only issue is battery is discharging when connected to motherboard in off condition.
Help me to diagnose this issue as there is no shortage in the inputs MOSFET
