Good afternoon, folks.
I picked up a freebie LG 42" Plasma TV from a friend. I've repaired a few "dead" LCD monitors with bad capacitors, and thought I'd give a go to fixing this beast up also. However, it clearly isn't a simple bad cap issue in this instance!
Some googling lead me to this forum.
My issue is that the tv works, and there is a picture, but the picture is quite dim. It is a lot like the issue discussed in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ghlight=42pc3d. This leads me to suspect that it is the Z-SUS board.
However, one additional symptom is that there is a large black jagged-edge border around the image also. These move around a bit and seem to fade as the tv warms up. Would this still be an issue with the Z-SUS board, or do I likely have more than one problem here?
Any help or pointers would be gratefully accepted!
thank-you.
