Dual lcd tv (dlcd 1501).

This tv switches on for about 2 seconds then switches back off , while it is on a dim picture can be seen , i think the inverter is faulty. I need a scrap power board if any one has one. The inverter transformer is faulty.
These tv's were sold by asda under the dual name brand , this one sold for £175 around 2004 - 5.
Looking at the boards it looks like it is made in china or some where.
I would like to save this from a visit to the dump. :-)

You may be able to make it work by disabling the inverter shut down.
Might be a Vestel of some kind.

Yes i will try that as a last resort. I am going to power the tubes up and see
how much brightness they are giving off. The tubes could be the cause of the shut down although the primary on the inverter transformer reads amber on my blue ring tester . I will have a look on the net to see if a replacement
inverter transformer can be got cheap ,
This one will have to be put to one side for a while as i am rebuilding a baird
lcd tv power supply.
