    Panasonic TH-42PZ80U 2 blink

    Happy Holidays
when I first got this tv it was cold from the trip home when I powered it on and backlights dimmed and brightened repeatedly.
After that all I have got is the 2 blink error.

I was reading about the 2 blink sos troubleshoot and I checked for 15vdc at connector P7, pin1.
After pluging in and hearing relay click I get 1.393vdc.
About 15sec later I hear a relay and voltage drops but no blink code at this point.
When I hit power on, 1.3v flashes quick before shutdown and error code.

I also tried a resistance/short test but honestly I dont know if the results are ok on my dmm. It took 30 sec for it to show a stable 1.748kohm

Should there be 15vdc just after pluging in?

    2 blink fix:

You do not need to replace the IC, only the capacitor.

I saw that video and read this thread, mainly post 10-20
      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...asonic+2+blink
I suspected caps but wasnt sure.

I think this should be a replacement but I have to verify first.

Norcal used a 10uF 50V(?) SMD cap, you could also use a through hole one. The ceramic cap in this case appears to fail earlier than it should.

            he used a 1uf 50v.
I assume other values dont matter?
I think it would be easier to use through hole or a smd like in video.

              I was going to order

              Will these work?

The Nichicon is smaller and would fit better.

a recomendation would be great. Maybe something like in pic

I ordered the surface mount ceramic cap. Hopfully I can solder something that small.

The yellow on in the first pic is the one I did on 50PZ80U. It's a
1.0uf Tantalum Capacitor 35WVDC bought at Radio shack for about $2. The fix I did was on the MC301 for 10 blinks. I didn't do the MC201 even though some said you should do both. I've thought about opening it back up to do it. But it's been just over a year and the set is still working. So I figure heck with it. If it stops I'll worry about it then. Yes the soldiering is a challenge. I took the board off the PS to make it easier.

I got the caps today and want to make sure i get them in correctly.
                    http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...179013?cur=USD
There are no positive or negative markings on it that I can see but the video I watched said to put the negative side toward top of board.
how do I know what end is negative?

I also picked up a few 1uf 50v alum smd caps like in video as a backup/spare

There is no polarity for a ceramic capacitor. Either way is fine.

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                        by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                        Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

                        by nervx
Years ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.

Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a...

                        by SentraDude
Greetings from SoCal I am new to this forum but not new to forum world. I come from Automotive end of side which is my main passion in life. Give the automotive nature, I love fixing and restoring things and I have in the past fixed many simple electronics, soldering, etc.. but this is a bit more involved so I found this forum, and I am very glad I did.

I picked up a Panasonic TC-P60VT60 with the 7 BLINK error.
Upon removing the back plate I found spider webs, dead spiders, and an amazing amount of dust. I did my best to clean the surface of the boards with a portable vacuum...

Panasonic Plasma repair - TH-P60GT50 - Dead, 3 blink code
                        by rmacintosh
I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
                        • Plug AC in to back of TV
                        • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
                        • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
                        • If the TV is unplugged and then
                        ...
