Sony KDL-32W4000 - no standby light and t-con problems

Hi evereyone, thank you for your attention!
A friend of mine yesterday give me a Sony Bravia KDL-32W4000 that doesn't turn on at all, no standby light. I've never repaired a LCD tv before, but I am quite good at electronics and I learned how all the part of a LCD works.

First thing I noted when I opened the back panel was that the T-CON was sconnected from the lvds cable. I've tried to reconnect it but it seems it is doesn't fix it properly. The T-CON model mounted is 320AP03C2LV0.1 but searching in the internet they say it is not the proper one for the sony kdl32w4000. The proper one should be

    http://flattvparts.co.uk/...mp;products_id=12857

but my panel has only one ribbon cable connection! I don't understand why there is this difference between what my TV should have and what in reality has...
    The panel is SAMSUNG LTF320AH01.

Anyway I don't think the problem with the turning on is due to this, but I think power board is dead: I've checked fuse and capacitors and it is all ok, but I've also checked with a tester and there is no standby voltage at all. What do you think about it?

So have you got any ideas of the reason why the T-CON is different and it doesn't fix the lvds cable (it is very hard to push it inside the T-CON socket...)??? My friend told me no one has opened the tv before but it sounds to me quite strange...

I'm very thankful for you attention, if you need more details, photos or something more just ask me! Thank you very much and sorry for my English which is not so good.

    Welcome to the forum-
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back (in the same orientation) and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Can you check that panel number - doesnt appear on google and is not the correct panel for the set - that might be the problem. Someone has tried to put in a non standard screen panel

Sonys use different combinations of panels and boards in many models. The ONLY way to know the correct part numbers and parts for a given unit is to check the serial # against a master listing. You CANNOT rely on part numbers from the service manual on a Sony LCD TV, and they don't use any kind of version numbers. therefore, I would not be quick to assume that someone has put in incorrect parts.

Perhaps so but the parts that are in there physically dont fit together so
          what would you think?

The only statement made by the original poster that indicates parts don't fit refers to the LVDS cable being difficult to insert. The rest was questioning the parts, based upon what he had found on the internet, indicating that other parts are used for this model. I would need to see some good photos, and specifically of the LVDS connectors, to make an assessment. LVDS connectors are sometimes difficult to insert, depending on the particular design of the connector. I would not assume incorrect parts without more information. And the only way to confirm what parts should be in his particular set is to consult the Sony "LCD TV Parts Guide", which is a listing of all models, and the parts used on them. In this listing, you look up the model #, then check serial # ranges to see what the correct parts are. Some Sony sets with the SAME MODEL NUMBER even use different rear cabinets, as the layout of input jacks on the main board is different. I have seen someone spend hundreds of $ on incorrect parts for a Sony because of this, and I want to help keep the original poster from making this mistake.

Mimo, please post good clear, detailed photos of all boards, and one showing the entire rear of the set with boards installed. Please also take close up photos of the LVDS Cable/Tcon connectors, so I can try to see if they are a proper match or not. And please provide the serial number of the TV. I can then try to research the correct parts on Wednesday.
