I have a picture again so the boards are fixed and we're making progress. Are there any tricks to getting the ribbon cables seated properly and how tough are those things? I feel like I'm going to tear them up tugging on them. I've tried reseating a couple of them 3 or 4 times with no luck.

If it's any help. I have this tv and along with finding the usual suspects shorted on the sc board I also found a shorted buffer ic. Replaced all components and all is well.
So ic shorts on buffer and takes sc with it.

After narrowing it down to my SC card I sent all three to David at Quad City Electronics in CA - extremely quick testing and repaired board - works perfectly now. 661-254-3003 or ebay user brevga - grreat service!

Or You can connect the SC on it's own, jumper SC50 pins together and power on. If it turns on with no blinks then it's the buffer boards.

before you power on, make sure the buffers are disconnected from the Sc and the 4 gnd screws removed from the buffers or better still leave them out completely.

If it still blinks 7, then contact modus
I tried that and now the green light on the SC board comes on and the power button stopped flashing. It has to be the SD or SU board doesn't it, or am I missing something else? I checked continuity across my ground screws and that seemed fine...at least to me. I'm learning as I go here so all help is appreciated. I guess the next move is to contact Modus unless somebody has any other ideas

The information is contained within this thread for the SD/SU isolation Sc board test.

have everything connected normally then do the following (TV off)

    1. Remove the 4 VFG (gnd) screws from the SD/ SU boards

    2. Remove 3 connectors SC46/SD46, SC42/SD42, SC41/SU41

    3. Install the SC50 Jig or just jump pins 1 and 2 of
connector SC50 on the SC board.

Turn the TV on as normal, observe the front LED.

If it turns on normally no blinks and the green onboard LED on the SC is lit (confirming the TV is on and running) then the SC is good.

7 blink will be either SD, SU or both boards.

If still 7 blink, SC is bad , SD/SU boards still need testing for shorts. There's probably a guide and or manual uploaded somewhere within in this thread

I can see it must have been a tough decision

make sure you come back with the final result and feedback on their service.

I have heard there have been delays due to parts recently. I forget but have you checked the SD/SU boards for shorts? that would be a good idea if not just in case because if they've shorted too they can/will blow up the Sc board

Also Shopjimmy do a kit, that may give some clues to what fails but I see a FET driver IC and tiny SMD 5pin pnp/npn dual transistor, tiny smd resistors plus the bigger stuff.

What experience in doing soldering and SMD work do you have?

    http://www.shopjimmy.com/panasonic-t...repair-kit.htm

    $30

    Kit Includes
    Description Quantity
    Transistors 7
    Resistors 6
    Diodes 2
    Integrated Circuits 1

I would keep it to simply this. on the SMD "D" devices the outer legs are the same connection . So outer -- outer will be short, center - outer should not be dead short.

probe center to both outer pins

Keep in mind this is in cct and other devices like the transistors are connected to it, so it may read short but a shorted transistor will also make the diode show short.

For the transistors "Q" . probe all 2 pin combinations of the 3 pins and see if dead short but watch out for low reading, may not go dead short . You could use resistance, I expect at least K ohms, 100's of ohms I would think is bad.

Some guys have repaired these boards now and ModuslinkPTS offer a rebuild service which usually is reasonably priced

What situation are you in? Is this a confirmed bad Sc board and you're trying to repair it or are you simply trying to establish if it's bad or not? what's your TV doing
    TPNA5335BK

I am getting 7 blinks. Unplugged the SU + SD boards (no shorts noted at the buffers of SU/SD) and connected the jumper @ SC50? and still got 7 blinks. Figured the SC board is bad. Removed the SC board and upon checking for shorts, I am getting the constant beep at all of the marked components.

I first test each component at pins 1 and 3 (out of the three pins), then I test it from ground to pin 1,2,3.

When. I use the "Danger H.V." Plate as ground, D461,462,463 will constantly beep at all three pins on each.

I am trying to figure out which components need to be replaced and if I am going about it correctly.

Went and tested my SC board (SC20 2pin beeps) and found that the multimeter will beep on all of the ones that I've marked with silver, when probing pins 1+3 on the component.

When ground is the High Voltage plate: D641, 642, 643 beeps as well

With the normal ground, everything else that is marked beeps.

That's 16 components that beep when tested, am I doing this right?

There probably is not one on the SS, sometimes there is. Weird beep is because something is shorted. The sticky stuff is conformal coating, there to preserve and protect from the elements, moisture, dust, etc. i would have left that and has no bearing on your issue.

I would not keep trying powering the SC board, you may get unlucky and cause more damage.

The SC board is dead in my books.

    Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 - Not Powering On - 3 Blinking Lights - 20 volts 0.224 amps
    by bialag
    Hello,

I have a Lenovo here that does not want to power on. The motherboard appears to be clean, no sign of corrosion or obvious fried components. When plugged in, I see 3 blinking lights and then off. It would cycle the 3 blinking lights every 10 seconds or so as long as I have the adapter plugged in. Amp meter shows 20 volts, 0.224 amps, no fan spin, red light indicator near the charge port.

Thermal camera shows a section of the motherboard that is warmer than the rest. It is near the connector labels JRTC1 (CMOS battery). Diode measurement to ground for pin 1 = OL,...

Sony XBR-75X950G seems dead with a black screen but backlight and sound is working and no blinking red lights
    by Audeze
I have a 2019 75" x950g, and while playing a movie, the screen suddenly went dark in a weird way, where it faded towards one corner into being fully black. Now the TV turns on, and the backlight comes on, but there is nothing displayed except black. Sound still comes through the TV speakers, and i have tried doing a hard reset using the volume - and power buttons while plugging the display back in, but it did not fix it. I can confirm that pressing buttons on my remote is still doing "something" because I'm hearing sound still, even though the screen is black.

Hello, got a ST50 plasma TV for repair. No signs of life, not even blink codes. Opened it up to check the power supply, type MPF6914. Apparent issues from visual detection and measuring for shorts:
    Diode type G972s6 - D101 with a short
    Mosfet 06N90E - Q301 shorted
    Fuse T5AH 250V - F103 blown
    Diode D301 shorted
    Relay DG1U-17VDC II - RL001 blown

I have not found a circuit diagram. Maybe someone here already dealt with a similar issue? Thanks for tips where else to check 😀...
