Hello,
I am new to this site and fairly new to electronics in general. I was wondering if anyone on this site can answer this question.
On a power circuit board for a 42mf521d/37, at location #6062, to replace this diode, which do I buy? It has markings on it that read "RGP10D" and underneath that it says "0545D". Can't find a schematic anywhere of this board although I have to dig a little deeper into this Forum site now that I'm a member.
To fill you in on where I am at, hopefully not potentially making things worse. I bought a broken television that won't turn on and chirps like a bird once it is plugged in. Before researching I isolated the problem to the power circuit board and found 4 bad capacitors which I replaced. Those where the classic 35V 1500uf and 25V that everyone sells online. This did not fix the problem. I noticed a ceramic capacitor close to the transformer smoked when I powered up the isolated circuit so I replaced that.
I did a diode test on all the diodes I could find and found (or I think) that the diode at location #6062 was bad. I was curious if I am chasing my tail now and replacing things that don't need to be, and am curious if the transformer maybe has an open in the coil causing the noise I am hearing? Or could it be the lack of voltage to the transformer that is causing the noise?
I haven't been able to do any voltage tests yet and was looking to find the post on here where someone was doing a step by step to check for voltage on the board. I wasn't a member when I stumbled upon this and could not view the pictures being shared.
This TV is old news now so I'll be surprised if anyone is paying any attention to this post!
Thanks in advance...
