Plays fine for 5 to 15 minutes then picture and controls lock up. Cycle power comes back on fine for another 5 to 15 min. Any help on which board may be causing this problem?

Re: Panasonic TH-42PX60U Locks up
Any power LED blinking? Does it lock up on just TV or any source video?
As efan said, check the fans. They get clogged and this sounds like an overheat problem.
Have the back off while testing? Direct a fan at the DG board area to keep cooling.
Check power board voltages when normal and failed.
Sounds like either the H board or (more likely) the DG board (MCU).

PS - Sudden problem or was there an "event" that could have caused this? Lightning storm or power surge?veritas odium paritComment

Re: Panasonic TH-42PX60U Locks up
No blinking. Steady on. No event. Just started last week. Some times the picture freezes and sometimes it goes to a multi colored screen. Remote and onboard controls inop. Cycle power and it's back to normal for a while. Will check fans and try other measures. Thanks.Comment

Re: Panasonic TH-42PX60U Locks up
I have pulled the DG board. I've located several on line. My question, is the suffix code important or will any of them work as long as they are the right part number?Comment

Re: Panasonic TH-42PX60U Locks up
If you can get one with a matching suffix, go with that. It can sometimes be important, but only Panasonic could confirm whether or not it prevents parts working together. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Panasonic TH-42PX60U Locks up
What is your original number?
Should be TNPA3903BBS or BBT. Tri-State Module has them for $31 with 6 mos. warranty.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by sam_sam_samI did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow
This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

by stecosHi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.
Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several... - Loading...
