Croc clips? Solder to bulbs. Jump across fuse.

You build that box like mine for the short indicator, use that, you can solder in 5A fuse in place of the bad resistors.

I will have to see if I have a 5A fuse. I know that I have some 3.15A for sure.

3.15A will work, it will just fail after running for some time, best to use 5A for permanent fix, but 3.15A will work temporarily.

            Re: Philips 42PFL7422D/37 is dead

            Found some 6.15A glass ones.
With inverters plugged in, the fuse went out or the wire inside it got unsoldered, I don't know. Bulb didn't blink at all.
Second time, I didn't plug the inverters and the TV clicked and some LEDs turned on, the blue from the front of the TV and some on the mainboard.
Finally!! This TV it was sitting in my garage for many months. I still have that shorted power supply LG, that will be my next repair.
I need to fix these TVs pretty fast, I need to get something for myself for Christmas.
The resistor that I have selected from Digikey it will be a good replacement?
            That is a 11W resistor.

Any input on the resistor? I would like to order them.
              Thank you.

                Re: Philips 42PFL7422D/37 is dead

OK, I have picked up locally some 1 OHM/5W resistors and installed them and the TV it's working!!
They heat up a bit though. I will order those 11W ones from Digikey.
In my opinion, the resitors were good, but the connection between the mounting pins and the resistor wires were bad(inside the resistors).

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                  by Asraf Atb
                  Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Philips 65PUS8518/12 distorted image after main board replacement
                  by tuner2000i
                  hello everyone,

I don't normally do tv repairs but this is a case with my personal TV which got fried together with many other electronics in my house after a thunderstorm.

The TV is a Philips 65PUS8518/12 which had no power. I measured and concluded that the main board was probably fried through ethernet or hdmi. I found a board with same number 715GD328-M0F-B00-005Y (I had G) but from a 55PUS8518. The TV starts but the image is doubled, distorted. I need to set the panel code which is 016 according to the sticker on the back but I can not seem to do it.

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
                  by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...
