Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board

    Hello all,

Have a 42" Aquos with DPS-226AP-1 and it brings up standby green light for about 30 seconds and then shuts off. If I try again in a minutes it'll bring it up for only a couple of seconds and shuts off again.

Voltage testing on TNY264 gives me 0.85V on EN/UV and 6V4 on BP.

I pulled and tested R7918 and it's okay, replaced it anyhow as a precaution

Might I just go ahead and order replacement diodes/caps (C7918, C7915, D7904, D7909, and IC7905) in one lot to cover all my bases?

Markings on D7905 appear to identify it as a TZX15B.

Just wanted to thank budm, and add another data point!
I had exact same symptoms as steinless on my RDENCA342WJQZ DPS-286AP-1 power board.

IC7905 was visibly damaged and was replaced.
R7914 was found to be open and has been replaced.

Lifting D7905 allowed the board to power up again.

You can get MOX film, or MOX wirewound type.

You also need to check the snubber network D7908, 7909.
So do you have about 165VDC between the negative leg of the main filter cap and either legs of R7914?
DCV between the two legs of the running cap C7915?

Thanks for sharing your knowledge budm.
Is "MOX" shorthand for Metal Oxide Film?

Just a heads-up that I'm lurking on this thread today. My Sharp Aquos powers off about every 2-3 minutes while in use. I have never attempted circuit board repair before so this is all new to me, but I'll post back with my findings. Hopefully it'll be helpful to others.

This afternoon I replaced R7918 but it didn't seem to do the trick. I'll be replacing R7914 next, since it seems like some folks have had luck with that.

I checked the voltage in the clips in the YouTube upload I see. Every power point is in the printed circuit board. I removed the circuit board to check. Any member Can you suggest me to check if MB is good or not? Can I make MB work on my own?

    Dear budm,

Thank you so much for your reply and explanation,

I follow your instructions and I find IC TNY264 is damaged.

Will replace it with new one + R7914 and will update the results.

I check the D & R at standby power supply and all are ok.

    Thank you budm.

Check pin 5 and GND pin of that SMPS IC as shown in post 71.

    Hi Budm,

I have same issue, I find R7914 open ans I change it using resistor 2.2ohm 1W, when I on the power the new resistor directly blow,

    Please advice

I will buy shop jimmy repair kit, but it's come with a 5.5ohm resistor for 7914, is good like this?
