Re: Sharp TV no longer powers on
Alright so next up on the test block is D7908 which has the symbol of a zener Diode. It has "P6KE 150A" printed on it. I looked it up it's a TVS diode (new to me).
Removing it from the board and using my diode test it reads 0.6V forward bias and OL reverse bias. In resistance mode it reads OL in forward bias and 13.743 Ohms in reverse bias.
The next component in series with the chip is R7909 a BYV26E which is reading 0.5V forward bias and OL reverse in diode mode on the DMM
I suspect these might be bad since I can follow...Last edited by mattbatt; 08-13-2017, 11:20 PM.

Re: Sharp TV no longer powers on
That was one of my thoughts as well, unfortunately I am leagues of my depth of understanding circuit boards of this complexity. Where is the 5V regulator?...

Re: Sharp TV no longer powers on
r7918 is also good
this is where I bought the replacement chip from

They have a PDF up on the page https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/bb6b1ae17b0785122c106009355ebacf.pdfRe: Sharp TV no longer powers on<br ...TNY264PN

Re: USB powered relay for mains voltage?
Thanks guys that's exactly what I was thinking of. Solid State Relay I thought those were more expensive. I have some more research to do.
Thank you.

USB powered relay for mains voltage?
So I have a small LED light and a pair of amplified speakers that I only want turned on when my computer is on. I'm thinking that there must be a way to trigger a relay when USB power comes on. I just want to make sure I build it correctly. I would imagine there should be a transformer or something to isolate the Computer side from the mains power side.
Am I crazy?
Is there already a product like this? I haven't been able to find one.
Thanks Guys.

OK I took some pictures let me know if there is an area I can highlight further.
Thanks for the help...

Re: Sharp TV no longer powers on
Darn it I forgot to put the powersupply model numbers in the first post
Delta DPS-183BP A
RUNTKA798WJQZ
Jimmy took better pictures than I can.
When I get home from work tonight I can try taking some.
No caps look blown....Last edited by mattbatt; 08-08-2017, 02:08 PM.

Sharp TV no longer powers on
Hello,
I have inherited my fathers old TV it's a Sharp LC-60LE831U. It was powering on and off randomly until IC7905 blew it's top (TY264PN) I replaced it and the TV still didn't power up. I traced down that the 2.2 ohm fusible resistor R7914 was blown so I have replaced that and still no joy.
I am measuring 164VDC on the two outside legs of the rectifier.
On the TY264pn using pin 3 as ground I am measuring
1) 0.5VDC 8) 0.0VDC
2) 0.0VDC 7) 0.0VDC
3) GND
4) 0.0VDC 5) 164VDC
There is no voltage going to the mainboard connector....

Resistor that is Red Red Gold Gold Silver
I'm not a newb but this one has me and google stumped.
What is the value of a resistor that's colors are Red Red Gold Gold Silver? what does the extra silver or gold stripe mean?
No I'm not color blind and the resistor calculators say it can't be done or doesn't exist.
It's resistor R7918 on board Delta Power supply board "runtka798wjqz"
It measures 2.2 ohms on board...

Re: Sharp Aquos LC-60LE832U No Power or Standby Voltage
Sharp LC-60LE831U "DPS-183BP A RUNTKA798WJQZ" Same as above.
When the TV was given to me it was turning on and off like the power supply was overheating. I left it running for several hours with the back off and it did fine, so then I tried it with the back on and it powered off permanently.
I found that IC7905 (TNY264PN) blew it's top. So I ordered a new one. I installed it and still have no power. Now, thanks to this forum, I have found the 2.2 ohm fuseable resistor is open. If I have to order parts...
