OK, that is not the same DPS-286 as shown by the OP, I use this picture from shopjimmy:
    http://www.shopjimmy.com/sharp-rdenc...upply-unit.htm
    http://www.shopjimmy.com/media/catal...jqz-bottom.jpg

    Which board do you have?
OK, you have the 226 not 286.

"its about 2k" That is low, there is a jumper wire J7080 connected to PIN 4 of the IC, un-solder one end so you can lift one end off the board, then take the reading again to see if the resistance will go up..

Yup i mean when it is not connected to the outlet.

I dont see a J7080, Closest to pin 4 is J7026? They are the same?

S (Source) pins are connected to the primary circuit ground which is the Ground ref point.
    BD 5.8V: This is normal.
ENUV (pin 4) .5V: There is problem here at this pin, minimum is 1V for the IC to be enable.
" I heard a sound and was slighlty startled. The screen came on when i put the meter between D and ENUV" That because the meter connections cause pin 4 to go high enough for the IC to get out off shutdown mode.
Please check the resistance between the ENUV pin 4 and S pin to see if it shows low resistance.

    Thanks for the reply budm!

    D comes up 320v
    BD 5.8V
    ENUV .5V

    Sometimes i get 1 V across the S pins

will there be variations across the source pins?

There was also a peculiar thing when i was testing. At one point, if i ma not wrong, D and ENUV measured about 400V. I heard a sound and was slighlty startled. The screen came on when i put the meter between D and ENUV.... only happened that one time..

    Hey guys

    Have a
    DPS-226AP-1 (RDENCA340WJQZ

    Have replaced TNY264 PN

    S and D of the TNY264 measures 330 V DC

    replaced fusible resitor 2.2 ohm

    Old resistor blown.

Snubber diodes look like they are working.

Any idea what else i can do?

Where do i check the standby 5V? LB1? Doesnt seem to have it.

    thanks!

TV is now working, thanks Budm & forum for your great help.
Just a note if it helps anyone I couldn't find the same Futaba Burst proof fusible resister I ended up using a flame proof fusible one in it's place. Thanks again

Take that resistor off the board. Testing component off the board is always the best way to do static test the component.

Hi the C7820 cap measured at 340v

I rechecked the R7914 2.2 Ohm resister again just after I disconnected the power & it showed around 4 ohms one way & nothing the other I left it for a approx 1/2 hour & it was back to 3.5 one way & 2.4 ohm the other way just wondering if I should take it off the board & check it

or is there something else to look at Thanks again

So you still do not have 5VSTBY from the board, right? What DC voltage do you get at the main filter cap C7820 (measure right at the two legs of the cap). You can test the board by itself with nothing else attached except the power cord.

Hi RDENCA342WJQZ DPS-286AP-1 Power board broken chip IC7905 I have pictures from the underside if you want budm. I also replaced the IC with a TNY264PN but still no power light showing I checked the diodes D7908, D7909 in position & they seem to work OK multimeter shows current one way & the R7914 2.2 Ohm resister measures at 2.8 to 2.9 Ohms would appreciate if someone could help with what I should check, Thanks

BTW, can you provide the straight shot pictures of the bottom side and the top side of the board for future reference in case I have to trace out the circuit, thanks.
    Hi,
I have only top side at this moment.
