    Re: Panasonic TCP42S2 1 blink

If I could flash my models firmware onto it that would be nice, but too easy...Hmmm

Their are jumpers that determine the suffix, Possibly firmware checks them for idiots who try to flash the wrong FW?
If I remove the resistors and flash with the 42S2's FW...If this would even be possible without a programmer IDK.

EDIT: They use the same firmware, Even the same as My x2

I suspect you'd need the flash programmer. Can you send the board back?

He let me out of it, In my 70 offer I said "I will pay 70 for it if it has NO suffix" he failed to read it till after he accepted it so no harm no foul.

I have. Tc-p50c2. Same problem and same findings. Had to replace mainboard too. Odd that these newer pannys are having this issue.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

I blame heat...2010 is the year they stopped using fans, I will be mounting 2 120mm fans when I get it going.

Sadly, I firmly believe 50% of the North American educated people don't know what the word suffix means.

Hey IamCanadian: how did you know the Vreg for 1.8vsub was bad? Are you referring to IC 5610? Did it just not output the right voltage? My 1.8reg seems to output the right voltage, but continuity test around the regulator shows low resistance in both directions across diode D5771 as well as parallel capacitors C5708/C5709/C5717. This is not consistent with other regulators IC5608, IC5606 or IC9801 with same part numbers and similar installation on this board.

Did you try to change the regulator?

I have a similar 1-blink problem and I'd like to hear your thoughts. See my post below at:

                                Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

                                by Buzztv
                                Hi,
This is my first post in attempting to keep my beloved 2013 Panasonic plasma tv going.
About 6 weeks ago the tv was turned on but then immediately shut off. There was no recent power surge or popping noise or any other symptom.
I checked all of the obvious things and decided to try a replacement power supply board (PSS in Panasonic lingo).
I would like to check the Vsus but this is one of the final models and at that point Panasonic did not indicate the Vsus and Vad voltages inside the chassis. It looks like they were discouraging people from making adjustments....

Years ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.

Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a...

I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

I picked up a Panasonic TC-P60VT60 with the 7 BLINK error.
Upon removing the back plate I found spider webs, dead spiders, and an amazing amount of dust. I did my best to clean the surface of the boards with a portable vacuum...
