    Panasonic TCP42S2 1 blink

    Ok hear is the rundown.

TESTED STB 5v 3.3v is acting a little weird (need to find pin out for this psu)
Vsus 207v, 15V shows up and gone with Vsus.

LED's light up on SS and SC

So it looks like all systems go..but no :S I will upload pics right away.

    Any pointers?

    1 blink on a p42s1 is standby 5v sense timeout/ Comm error with IC9003

Pics. I have read about the ic9003 any way to confirm?

Also, I hear a slight arcing sound in the upper right quadrant of the PS

        Re: Panasonic TCP42S2 1 blink

I have a working A board from a TCP42X2 Would it work for testing? same part number different suffix.

or will one being 720p and one being 1080p mess something up?

          Re: Panasonic TCP42S2 1 blink

With other board it powers up right, but that is all I can do because all connectors are diffrent other than IR, Aud and the 2 power connections.

How do I trouble shoot what component is bad. or try to trace it along and check everything?

            Re: Panasonic TCP42S2 1 blink

Do you get a picture? I doubt that the 1080p panel would work with a 720p board.

            IC9003 is the main microcontroller.

Have you got the SM? If not, here it is:
            http://tgohome.com/ServiceManuals/?d...&Search=Submit

Not sure which pin triggers 1 blink but there's an A board schematic from page 48 onwards.

F_STBY_ON is only showing 4v....could that be a problem?

Sorted out the 1 blink...1/2 way anyway, Now I have good pwr on 3.3v signal, but only have a momentary Panel_main_on.

seems like the panel cpu may be toast

How did you sort out the 1 blink?

Part # for the A board? It may be cheap but usually not with Panasonic....

Make offers to sellers. More than likely, they will accept because the boards cost them very little (they just decide the pricing because they're amongst a small number selling that board.)

Since you have nothing (or very little?) invested in the TV, it could work out well, $70 for a 42" 1080p plasma...!

Ah, yeah, probably -- though if it were a 1080p panel it were going into, I'd take a stab that it could have a chance of working, there's just the possibility things like the design of the panel (brightness, colour correction etc.) would be wrong.

                                          Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

                                          Hi,
This is my first post in attempting to keep my beloved 2013 Panasonic plasma tv going.
About 6 weeks ago the tv was turned on but then immediately shut off. There was no recent power surge or popping noise or any other symptom.
I checked all of the obvious things and decided to try a replacement power supply board (PSS in Panasonic lingo).
I would like to check the Vsus but this is one of the final models and at that point Panasonic did not indicate the Vsus and Vad voltages inside the chassis. It looks like they were discouraging people from making adjustments....

Years ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.

Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a...
