Yes my first LCD TV in all my time here. a ~40" Ilo TV, had two small caps replaced once, and now its two 400v 100uf are fried. These look legit, what you think?

Since you live in the USA and digikey has reasonable shipping costs (typically under $3 USD for first class shipping), I suggest avoiding anything on ebay. The Rubycon's are likely fake. The date code looks all wrong.

I 100% agree. I tend to only use ebay if it's a last resort effort.

Here is a digikey link for a Chemicon KXG for $2.84. It's Ripple is 765mA
      http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...1469-ND/755985

Here is for a panasonic EE for $4.28. Its ripple is 2.6A but the length is a little longer than the one chemicon above (40mm)

I found it at mouser for cheaper

so happens I live in mansfield, TX, where mouser HQ is, its actually 5 mins from me. I know a guy who works there, he says you don't have to have a business license anymore to buys caps

Well, then it is an easy choice.

I only mention digikey because I know what is mailing costs are. I don't know them for mouser.

Mouser's shipping is $6.95 for up to 1 pound in the US (priority mail only). I typically use digikey since the shipping lead time is quicker and what i order almost always weighs less than 13 ounces so it can be mailed via first class mail. But i have ordered from mouser is what i need is out of stock elswhere. But if you live 5 minutes away, driving up there and getting them directly is the way to go.

Re: Ilo, two biggies bad, should I use these?

I'm a bit weary of using UCC caps, and the panasonic EE linked above are 40x18, the current ones are 35.5x18, and the extra height puts the vent very close to a mosfet heatsink (the one that is most 'burned' is the one that is closest to this heatsink)

I found a nichicon on mouser that is 580ma, 35.5x16, where the current cap (Capxon) is 550MA, its nichicon and its close enough, right?

ya know what, I was wrong the whole time, these are 450v!

I picked up 400's nichicon 10,000hrs from mouser a few hours ago. I'll keep them, never know when I might need them

of the 450's only one that had a 35mm length (all others had 40-50) was 2000 hrs and they're out of stock for two days. oh well, i'm not going anywhere

is the voltage on these caps right from the ac? would it be ok to use 400's in place of 450's?

Most likely using PFC so bus voltage could be 400V nominal... 400V caps might be too sensitive with regards to running very close to limits possibly exceeding them.

Re: Ilo, two biggies bad, should I use these?

ok so the caps I was going to order are waay too far out, so i'm going to have to get some 40mm length instead of 35, it fits, but puts the top of the cap awfully close to a reg heatsink, I might have to come up with some insulator to place between them. anyways, these were what I was hoping to get

                      http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...uvOy%252bMt9w=

but I have a quetsion about the leakage, the current leakage on the capxon KM's are <= 0.01 and the leakage on these nichicons are 0.06

leakage is something i'm actually not sure about, I never paid much attention to that value, so i'm not sure and need some gurus opinion

No need to be concerned about leakage in this instance. Only if it is a startup cap or battery powered.

                          Picking caps for Antec SU-380
                          by ajdrenter
In my search for a proper 5v heavy ATX power supply, I selected an old Antec SU-380 that I've had in storage for a long time. Opening the power supply reveals a couple bulged capacitors. I removed all the caps and made a map for myself. I found the datasheet for the PCE TUR series in this thread:
                          https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14159
It says these are general purpose, so I assume I can replace them with any general purpose capacitors, but I don't really know anything about power supply circuits or reading capacitor datasheets. Despite this, I've been shopping for replacements:...

                          by staze
Working on an older Boston Acoustics HPS10SE, and while verifying voltages, I noticed one of the PSU BJTs is getting excessively hot and the voltage is dropping out on the 15V rail. Not sure that's actually an issue (I don't have everything plugged in, so maybe something is saturating on the positive end and dragging that rail down and the BJT overheating is cutting out).

But, figure I need to buy some NP capacitors from mouser anyway, so might as well replace these. They're a H669A and H649A. Pretty "meh". They test fine out of circuit, but I can't really put a load on...

I had my Quadra 840AV (which I recapped and had working) plugged in for some time without using it and randomly decided to turn it on today. Unfortunately it did not turn on. After checking the PSU, I found out I was not getting anything from 12V, only from the 5V rail. After a few minutes, I removed the PSU and plugged it back in the electrical outlet and it suddenly started making a weird sound and soon after smoke started coming out. I quickly unplugged it. I opened it up but on first instance I didn't see anything out of the ordinary really. I later turned it back on and one of the MOVs blew...

                          by TomGJ
Hi All, So I have two Genelec 8020Cs that are about 10 years old, one of them stopped switching on. I took it apart, fuse was blown, and I've traced the short to one of the two large capacitors on the circuit board.

Now from looking at the Capacitors, they seem to be from Samwha's SD Series with the following specs: 3300uf, 35v, 85C, 25 x 16 mm Radial.

The problem is, I can't find any capacitor from Samwha's SD Datasheet that matches these specs. The closest is 3300uf, 35v, 85c but 31.5 x 16mm, with a max ripple current of 2.5A. I'm guessing the 25mm is custom made for...
