Vizio 42" LED Power Supply with small green circuit board.

Does anyone know what this small circuit board does? a ribbon cable runs from this to the T-Con Board. Thanks.

It is power supply board with the LED backlights power supply to the right of the board, you can see two multi-pin connectors that go to the LED string assembly, it has 12 switching power supplies (current source) as you can see by the 12 inductors close to the connectors for the LEDs. You can also see 12 MOSFETs next to the inductors, for 12 strings of LEDs (There are 12 Feedback pins: FB1 ~12).
There should be some printing on the board telling you what the drive voltage for the LEDs will be.
The pictures is not focused enough to read the printings on the board.

I mean the little green circuit board that's mounted to this power supply board, the little board is marked DC-3308 it has a ribbon cable connector at one end and that ribbon cable goes to the T-Con Board also at the other end of this small board is a connector labeled "Writer" with nothing plugged into it. Thanks.

I saw that you have order the T-CON board, so I hope that will fix it. I am beginning to learn more about LED TV power supply circuit that supplies the power to the LEDs.

The little green board is the multi-zone dimming controller. It controls each of the LED boost converters.

So the command signals come from the T-CON, that will make sense, and also expalin why it has 12 LED drivers.

Yeah, it is supposed to improve contrast ratio, but since each block represents 480x360 pixels it's not very effective. But it is a good way to artificially boost the contrast ratio on test images.
