42" Panasonic TX-P42C2E Plasma blinking fast green

    Hey all.

I have a 42" Panasonic TX-P42C2E Plasma blinking fast green,
and the screen is black/no picture.
    when I turn it on.
I clicks, but power button flashes really fast something like 36-37 times
and goes steady green. Nothing on the screen.

The PSU is a :AASY NO LSEP1287
    The mainboard is a:TNPH0829

I have tested the 4 fuses on PSU, they are all good.
I have unplugged X og Y boards, but same problem.

I will take pictures of the components as soon as possible.

Anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

    Best Regards
    Nostrike

Does the set buzz while running?

Flashing green then steady is normal startup. dead/cracked panel? If a board has failed it's unusual not to get a red blink code. Any audio?

It does buzz while turned on from PSU (very quiet Buzz).
        No sound with DVD player
There is a normal light in the Optical sound output on mainboard.

When turned on, after 2-3 minutes the PSU clicks 3 times,
After 2-3 minutes again it clicks 1 time og blinks red 13 times.

          Found the Service Manuel.
13 red blinks means Sound SOS - A-board Speaker
So the A-board is defective ?

I thought you said it was green not red?
Check for shorted speaker cables. Wires touching frame for example.

OK, sorry, did not see that. Check the speaker connections then.

Check the wires aren't broken or damaged, they are properly secured, and they have no connection/short to the chassis of the TV.

                      Have checked them.
                      Not broken.
                      Not touching chassis

In which case I would suspect A board or DA board (depending on what this TV uses.)

                          A-board : TNPH0829 2A

My own conclusion was also the A-board
after testing, so I think you are right.

same issue here, well kind off.
got a TX-P42G10B which workS, but will sometimes not switch on. and just get flashing green LED.
have noticed a slight blowing of a cap on power board, going to replace that.
so did you get it working?

                              I am waiting for a new A-board.
I do not think we have the same problem.
I think your caps are bad.
When you replace them, it will work

Panasonic do not use poor capacitors, it would be extremely rare to see them fail. Some of the larger caps can look slightly bulged due to mechanical tension, but it is an illusion.

                                  replaced the cap.
                                  same problem.
was able to look at it while it was in fault.
                                  209 volts ok.
Led's on the SS and SC boards are lit.
So according to the service manual it says it's the A or D board, as I do not have a D board guess it's the A.

have managed to get an A board for £35 so will try that.

Hi everyone. I've been given a dead Pana 55DX600u that I hope to save from landfill. I suspect the tcon board or UC1 on that board.

Set will flash green led and attempt to start, backlight gives a brief flash then set shuts down and red led flashes slowly. Voltages out of PSU look ok. TCon board gets 12v at fuse when attempting to start and 3.3v on L1 but main IC gets warm very quickly (heatsink/cover removed, felt with back of hand) during the second or two the 12v is applied before PSU shuts down. TVS diodes on lvds input lines are not shorted, no caps appear to be shorted. ...

                                          Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

PANASONIC TX-P42X10Y Plasma TV damaged after a power spike
                                          by tofik
Hello, I have an PANASONIC TX-P42X10Y Plasma TV, purchased new in 2009.
Unfortunately plasma is not working at all after a power spike. Standby LED is not even working.

I did some quick tests, YSUS + ZSUS MOSFETS and IGBT's are free from shorts, diodes on these modules seems to also be fine, buffer board is free from shorts as well.

Anyway I focused mainly on the PSU, did some voltage tests with the results as below, I attached them on the photo (also please see attached PDF with the SERVICE MANUAL for this model, page number 43).

                                          I understand...

panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television half screen problem
                                          by renech
                                          hello,
I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
                                          I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left...
