Panasonic 55DX600u repair help - no display fast green then slow red led flash

Hi everyone. I've been given a dead Pana 55DX600u that I hope to save from landfill. I suspect the tcon board or UC1 on that board.

Set will flash green led and attempt to start, backlight gives a brief flash then set shuts down and red led flashes slowly. Voltages out of PSU look ok. TCon board gets 12v at fuse when attempting to start and 3.3v on L1 but main IC gets warm very quickly (heatsink/cover removed, felt with back of hand) during the second or two the 12v is applied before PSU shuts down. TVS diodes on lvds input lines are not shorted, no caps appear to be shorted.

If I attempt to start TV with TCON lvds disconnected the led will stay green.

Is UC1 on TCON board likely dead? Any further assistance would be hugely appreciated.

Once it shuts down power to the TCON it just flashes very slow red.

I stopped counting at 15 or so. It was flashing very slowly - is this the normal behaviour for flashing a fault code?

        Thanks guys :-)

Thanks Diah. Can you explain the BL issue and how to confirm?

I just tried counting LED flashes again and it just keeps slowly flashing, at around 3 sec each flash, I stopped counting at 30 flashes.

This is correct. With lvds disconnected I get solid green but no BL flash or any BL at all. With lvds connected I get very short BL flash then shutdown and slow flashing red LED.

LVDS disconeccted = BL_On signal OFF ( MB will ignore and didnt send BL_ON signal ) because no need ... no T-CON / LCD in system )
LVDS connected ( normal state ( MB will send BL_ON signal )... BL failed rMB register error ... this BL errpor not designed with Panasonic error chart.

hope now its clear for you

You get the error "1" - BL SOS (blink once - pause 3 seconds, blink once again - pause, ...)

i don't think so..... he may got 10 blink fast... Panasonic BL error code never being correct... because the issue if the socket burn / mild will have different behavior

Both BL sockets on power board are perfect - would you still like a photo? If I disconnect both, LED blink fault behaviour is the same but no BL flash. If I disconnect one BL connector, I get no BL flash but same shutdown and red slow led. If I disconnect other, I get BL flash and same shutdown and red slow led.

At first power I get solid green, fast green flash about 10 times, small pause, about 5 fast green, then red slow continuous.

I apologise and understand your frustration. I read the previous message about the connector burn and mistakenly thought that is what you were looking to see. I will take a clear photo and post it in a few minutes. Again sorry for the frustration and I appreciate the time you spend here helping people, you do a great job :-)

Nikon D800 camera - flash don’t work and capacitor don’t charge
                                          by corrize
                                          Hello, I'm stuck in troubleshooting…
The flash system works like that : when the (mechanic) flash button is pressed, the flash mecanically pop up, and a circuit buck boost elevate 7v (batt) to 200-300v (?) for charging the big capacitor. And when the photo shoot button is pressed, the capacitor is discharged in the xeon light.

In the D800, there is a first « power board » close to the battery. 2 wires (batt 7v) goes to another little « flash board ». I measured 7v, so ok.
When I press the flash button, it's detected by the system, flash icon appear on LDC display....

I usually try to figure these things out on my own but am asking for help now as I have been beating my head against a wall.

Backstory, I initially ended up with a CF20 Mk2 with a locked BIOS. I used aptio to read the BIOS and made the adjustments to the .rom file and attempted to write it back with aptio before reading other users problems with that setup. Well it bricked the BIOS go figure. Computer no longer boots, black screen. I found a clean BIOS on this forum but now I am having ME issues. So I would rather hand over the aptio dump(pre BIOS brick) and a hardware reader dump(post...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

                                          LCD TV Green/Pink screen problem
                                          by jimjoe123
I have a Dick Smith 37" LCD TV, Model GE6804. I am using it as PC extended monitor only.

Problem is while watching tv, I hear a semi loud click(like a electrical breaker tripping due to overload, just sound like it but no actual electrical overload), then screen is covered with green or pink. I can still see the original picture image but overlayed by green or pink. See attached images. Pink.jpg is what I see, and Normal.jpg is before green or pink screen, What I captured was pink screen, but about 80% of time it's green and 20% of time it's pink.

                                          Then each time...
