Re: 42" Vizio No Picture has Backlight

Got the new/used T-Con board today, got it installed and everything works good...on High Definition Cable TV using HDMI input. I'm So happy to get it going.

Now another project.... I just got a 47" Philips LCD from a guy for free, he said it went out in a thunder storm and that he himself replaced the power supply board but still a dead tv, I will start a new thread on it once I get into it, haven't even taken the back off yet.

I want to thank Budm and everyone else that helped me on this one.

    Thanks so much!!!!

Fixed 1 Plasma and 2 LCD TV's so far.

Whew! I am glad you got it fixed, $55 for 42" 3D TV, not bad. I hope the EEPROM does not go out next!
By the way, can I get good picture shot of the T-CON board, and do you mind if I post your pictures on my Photobucket so it may help other people also?

I actually bought this tv not working for $150 paid $55 for T-CON = $205 total investment.still a great deal. Attached is a picture of the T-CON Board, I guess I could have removed the metal shielding to try and troubleshoot but It may have been a bad processor IC that I wouldn't have been able to replace anyway, hard to tell what failed on this board. one guy posted he did a re-flow with a heat gun on a few TV's he fixed. I think I will hang on to the old board anyway. Bud yes please post in your photo bucket to help others. Thanks!

yes that was an expensive bugger to fix for me I think it required new psu and a tcon board for me to fix that one... Good luck.

Did you ever get the T-Con? Was that the issue.

Have the same issue and getting the light sequence. Checked a few caps on mainboard and all are good. Not sure where to go from here customer had already replaced the video board with no results.

VIZIO E70-E3 Half picture with half TCON

                Hi,
                I have a VIZIO E70-E3.
Symptoms: Black screen, no picture, but LED backlights are working.
I probed the power board and voltages are as listed on the board.
                Main board appears fine, too.
I believe the problem is either a bad T-CON board, or connection to LCD, or bad LCD.
There are two separate ribbon cables feeding the LCD.
If both are connected, the screen is black.

If only the ribbon cable that feeds the right side of the screen (when viewed from the front) is disconnected, the left side of the screen shows picture and...

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
                by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

Vizio P602UI-B3 No Picture or Sound - No TCON Voltage
                by jason123
                Hello,
Help is much appreciated as I don't have any experience with this model TV.

Picked it up and it was smoking in the back when powered.
Open opening the LED Driver board was charred (see last photo.)

I noticed some blown caps on the Power board as well.

Replaced the LED driver board, and bad caps on Power supply.

Voltages on CN301 (upper power supply connector to LED driver board)
                X000017 - All 24.39V
                GND - 0.001
                OD - 0.015
VSNS - 0.009 (does that imply bad backlight or bad LED Driver?)

Vizio m65-c1 picture flashing on and off on the screen
                by maricm
                HI all,
hope someone point to the possible issue before I start buying replacement parts.
Tv starts normal and responds to remote fine, PSU voltages mesured fine 19v was 18.9V under load and 19V with main board disconnected.
Backlight stays on all the time,
                Sound works fine.
screen keeps changing form black to full picture in about 1sec intervals.
Picture looks fine with no visible artifacts.
I have disconnected backlights and flashlight test confirmed that picture is still doing the same.
