    Panasonic TH-42PX80U

I have a TH-42PX80U, it shows no picture, no sound and does not respond to the remote control. I confirmed the remote is outputting a signal by looking at it thru the camera on my phone. When I plug in the set, I hear a triple click from the relays and can see the red light from the toslink port. When the power button is pressed the panel comes on, I'm guessing the back light works. I've taken the back off, both the SS and SC have green leds that illuminate. Last night I unplugged both the power and control wires for the SS board. When I did this the tv would no longer turn on. Does this mean the SS board is bad? I didn't try the SC board.

    Thanks
    Dusty

Is the Power LED on the front flashing any error code? You must be very careful on Panasonic Plasma sets. They are extremely susceptible to further damage if you disconnect the wrong things then power it on while troubleshooting.

It is on, no error code. It will stay on constant. In fact I have to hold the power button down to turn the unit off. Then it starts a power cycle. Finally I have to remove the power cord from the back of the unit.

Check the voltages coming out from the power supply. Also check the fuses on the A and D boards (A may not have one).

Blindly, it sounds like a main board (A) prob.

I'll check that, this model only has the one input board.

          Thanks for the help
