    Nutec LCD TV NDL2703 mystery

I found this TV at a recyclers and found that it was dead,so I recapped the power supply and it worked OK. I gave it away to a lady down the road and told her if anything goes wrong with it bring it back.Ha!Ha! The symptoms it shows now, are when it is turned on from cold there is sound, but there are vertical lines across the entire display with a hodge podge of colour that continually changes(with the TV programing) until after 10 minutes the picture appears? I can turn it on and off when its warmed up like this and there isn't a problem. I cant find a service manual for this TV or anything about it really,I do know that Coles sold them.Any ideas, suggestions on what may be the problem will be appreciated.Cheers,Ross.

So there are multicolored lines across the entire screen for 10 minutes then the picture comes in good?

You replaced all the caps except the large one (350~450VDC cap) with low ESR type.
If you do get good picture after warm up, you can use cold spray for electronics troubleshooting or use the canned air duster upside down and spray the T-CON board to see if it will give bad picture.

Also I would reset the connector going to the TCON board I have had a TV where the TCON ribbon cable just needed to be reseated after replacing 300+ dollars worth of boards it came up with all different lines through the screen and I thought great the screen is shot I am going to blast this thing to smithereens at this point then I reset that cable and bingo its working... This is always the first and easiest test I try for lines and have suggested it ever since.

Actually I only replaced 1 of the main caps with one out of my junk box because it was down a bit.The other measured up OK. Does it have to be low ESR?

I will give that a go,I scraped off the glue from that connector just in case the glue had gone conductive with age,Ill re-seat it and get back on how I went with it.

HP Elitebook 6050A3299901-MB-AX1 mystery model, need help identifying it
                by cannifixit
                Hi,
I recently bought a faulty Elitebook from ebay, and that was exactly how it was listed just "HP Elitebook", no details.
It has two issues, the first being in manufacturing mode for the bios, which from my understanding essentially means a bios has been flashed that does not have any of the laptops details, model, serial number etc.
The second issue is it does not charge which I'm sure I'll be ok with once i get into it.
The bios issue is a problem though as the laptop is missing all of the details on the bottom case, it's completely blank, it's not like they...

                Samsung QN82Q70RA backlight mystery

I picked this up and it had picture but no backlight. I was somewhat familiar with his TV as the LED driver fails a lot on this model. But when I tested the LED driver it had all the voltages necessary. I even had a spare one to try out just in case and that one did not solve the problem either.

I tested all the LEDs before pulling the screen apart but ended up pulling the screen apart anyways to further test them. Every one of them tests at 90 volts with the tester. They all light up. I replaced a couple as seen in the picture because I had extra and I accidentally popped the cap...

                Motorcycle flasher mystery.

usually get help on here for computers and monitors etc but I thought you guys are the best I can think off to help me solve a real mystery.
I have a Honda NT650V bike and recently fitted a towbar to tug a little trailer sometimes.
Everything was good until I connected up the trailer socket.
The problem is whenever I use the direction indicators/flashers it causes a misfire as soon as I cancel the flashers the misfire stops. The bike without the trailer lights attached is fine.
.So far Ive tried the following:
                1) I replaced the battery for a higher A/h original...

                Mystery Resistor?
                by foxd01
Hello folks, I'm trying to fix an ATX power supply, among other problems it has a blow resistor with markings that don't make sense to any of the calculators I've tried.
I'm reading it as red, red, silver, gold, green.
It is a large resistor (15.5mm) on the high voltage circuit.

Here is a huge picture - can anyone help me with the resistance and wattage values?
                Thanks for any help.

Troubleshooting 2.4Ghz RC toy + mystery IC
                by madan1
                Hi guys.

Recently got a faulty RC toy from ebay.. nice toy indeed - clean and neat, no visible usage and the fault was stated as "moves only backwards". Alright, faulty switch was my first thought... yes, but no.
Indeed when the car and the remote are powered, they automatically pair ( takes less than a second ) and after the first input, the car starts moving backwards until powering off the remote or the car. During that time, the other channel ( steering ) works fine.
Since the car is 4x4 and with two steering axles ( no differentials tho ), it has...
