Samsung is bad panel, don't touch it.
I think the Emerson may be too, I can't be sure.

Vertical bar on plasma is burnt chip on the ribbon cable. All plasma tvs.

I only had one tv where it was a circuit board.

Agree with cadiman. 9 times outta 10 a vertical stipe/bar/line is unrepairable plasma panel failure.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

No experience with Emerson, I stay away from them. Is the Samsung a plasma or LCD? If LCD and the price is low enough. I may risk it. Bad panel, yes, but I have fixed most that I have tried to. Just tonight, I fixed a Sharp 52 inch that had half the screen all messed up. One connection point was responsible for all of it. 15 minutes of trying spots on the panel. It will take hours to fix the plastic standoffs that cracked over the years. Still, not bad for $30.

Where exactly did you find the problem and was this LCD or Plasma?

I got the samsung, its an lcd. FREEEEEEEEEEE.... I figured when I got it back to the hotel and plugged it in that I would be able to flex the frame and she some changes, but I flexed the hell out of it and seen no changes.. The Emerson is also an LCD but I have not heard back from them.. I really dont need any of them, as I have 3 at home I need to get my a** back to working on but hubby and kid have kept me to busy to work on anything.

So I am guessing its not he tab bonds.. I wont be able to do anything else with it until I get home.. I did notice that there are 2 lines on the screen all the time and a 3rd one comes and goes..

It could still be tab bonds, not always possible to 'clear' them by flexing. May be at the circuit board end.

The Sharp that I worked on was model LC-52D65U. The tabs are on the bottom. The problem was a main connector on the left side. It was not holding the flat connector tight enough. The metal frame is 4 seprate pieces. Took only the bottom one off. Used a piece of dense 'heat sink rubber' between the connector and the metal frame to apply pressure. Will test for several days before closing it up. Still have to fix the cracked/broken plastic standoffs. It is a thin plastic frame model, not very strong...

                        Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                        by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

                        Samsung QN50Q60t lines on screen
                        by jeyoung12
                        Hi all
I have lines on the screen...which is an age old problem that can be remedied by watching Youtube videos and getting out the tape.
My issue (after successfully fixing a different sammy tv with a separate tcon board and isolating the side of the panel...):

This tv has an integrated tcon...so it is a bit more confusing when trying to isolate the clocks.
It has a c ribbon and i have taken each end out to see if that will isolate the lines. instead, it makes it much worse ALL over the tv!

So....i don't know what end of the C ribbon to work with...

                        Samsung QE50Q67TAU - horizontal lines
                        by Rubenlily
                        Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
                        by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...
