Looks like it's had an accident, something hit it, probably made a very light crack. Avoid.

Hmm well maybe not then, but it doesn't look like any T-con failure I've seen yet... if I were to guess it would be panel drivers, the side tab bonds.

tab bonds messed with that before on a cursed samsung 50 inch yeah i was able to get it to stay clear but it only lasted like 3 months, still not worth it unless you were buying time looking for a replacement....

Do you have a spare $1 million tab bonding machine lying around? I need to clean out the garage; there's probably one in there somewhere.

I don't even think you can buy the driver chips. They are just bonded into the LCD panel itself.

oh i was thinking those square black ic, on the driver board part that tab bonds sometimes snap into and sometimes bonded to. are you talking about those ic in the ribbon itself? Pardon my misunderstanding.

Yes, ICs on the ribbon cables.
Sometimes it can just be pressure that they need: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=purk...feature=relmfu

ahh sorry your talking about where the ribbon end that goes into the glass? see with that cursed samsung i messed with i tried to apply pressure to the edges of the glass and it made no difference, but on the other end of the ribbon it was bonded to a pcb not snap in. so i went to ace hardware and picked up drawer bumpers, thanks to bad caps by the way, i put them on the metal frame that goes over the lcd edges and applies pressure where the ribbon bonded to the pcb and it lasted 3 months.

perhaps i could have made it last longer if i would have applied pressure to the ic on ribbon itself, but if memory serves me right, i think i tried that and there were this one line that would not go away, would try it again if i get one for free, won't buy one.

Hi all, I tried searching the site for answers but I'm a bit over my head understanding some of what might apply and what doesn't, so please be patient with me. I used Freakaftr8's fix to remove the left driver board to restore picture to a black screen with sound Vizio E701i-A3. After doing so, I now have a large red vertical stripe down the center of the screen. The fix did require getting another t-con board from online, I ordered it before I knew about the mosfit fix for the old t-con board. I have tried cleaning the cable connections to the t-con board. I swapped the cables going from...

                            Kogan - KALED65XU9220STB - Blue Vertical Line
                            by TrueSword88
                            Hi all.

I have a Kogan 65' LCD Panel with a thin blue vertical line (top to bottom) on left hand side of panel.
The line just happens to coincide with the end of COF and start of the next COF (attached).

The line is permanent no matter what I've tried. I've tried pressure testing the panel (top to bottom) and all over, I didn't notice any difference with the line, either temporary or semi-permanent.

Also tried unplugging all flex cables, cleaned with isopropyl then re-inserting to no avail - line remains.

                            Hoping to fix...

To fix laptop screen vertical line by working on its EDP cable
                            by almarhum
Has one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?

As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                            by kca
                            Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

Samsung UE58TU7100K - no picture, vertical line
                            by mrsith
                            Hi.

Got UE58TU7100K with no picture - backlight comes on though. Figured out that's a perfect candidate for cut tape method.

This model has just one LVDS tape coming off main board - and two panel boards underneath the LCD screen are connected to each other via small tape. Like curved screens. I've tried to disconnect half of the screen (5he side without LVDS connector on it, obviously), no joy.

Disconnected the tape (main board side). Applied a small piece of tape, covering first ~4-5 pins. Powered the TV on - got picture. In negative, but that's...
