This is how to fix a Deawoo DP-42SM Plasma

This model has a common problem with no-video. I've search the interweb high and low looking for the fix, and all I found were other people with the same problem, but no idea what was wrong.
It's what I call a first generation plasma, it's not a HD panel. No tuner, and no internal speaker. So it's not worth much, but the fix can be free if you have the right equipment.

    The problem:
Powers on, audio works, on screen menu display work's, but no picture from any input.

    The fix:
Chip number location IC 401 on the PCB Video SP-120 board. It is a SMD BGA chip, Philips SAA7118 video decoder.
All it needs is a reflow.

Hmm really? I happen to have 3 of these sets, ALL with the same exact problem, except the first one I got of I shorted out a transistor or a mosfet can't remember =/. I bought them all for about 40$ total. Now they are all just stored away still not working with boards and screws lost around the room. I'll try to dig it up and give the fix a try.

Just wondering how you happen to figure out this solution? Its an old plasma I know, but I still like the design of the set itself.

Good find, I like to read stories where someone went out of their way to fix and ongoing issue.

I just reread the fix and seems the problem I have is different. The TV doesn't turn on, the relay will click and the red LED will turn green, however the TV is still on, (no backlight on)

          Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV
          by ArMaaN376
          Hello,
I am having Samsung PS51E550 Plasma TV. While the TV was working, a crackling sound heard & video went off with audio still ON. After switching it off & ON, the red LED on TV blinks six times & then off.
Opened TV cover & observed foll
          a) Green LED on the small PCB blinks at @5-6sec ON & off for 3-4 secs. Red LED on logic board ON
b)Vs & Va on power supply board raises momentarily to 209v & 58v resp & then drops.
          c) Cold test on Y-main board shows all 3 pins of FGPF4536 IGBT short to Grnd.
How to confirm Y -Buffer board...

          Panasonic plasma TX-P42ST50 - 6 blinks
          by jm1234
          Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

Hitachi 55HDS69 55" Plasma TV - No Picture But Sound
          by KYBOSH
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...

Satalite TV decoder - Smart card issue
          by harshana
I own satalite TV connection. My Decoder Not functioning well. I was able to find same model decoder from a friend but the thing is My smart card not working on that device.
When I talk with the Service provider, They told me that The decoder Im trying to use will not work on my card because it has a different serial number.

when I replace Bios chip of my new device with old chip it returns and error saying incorrect information.

I have no idea to do anything. No model number mentioned and I can share photos if needed. also I can share bios bin file if you...
