    Are CCFLs Worth Anything on Ebay?

    I saw some on Ebay, but it's not clear that there
    is a market for them.

    I'm parting out the 42" Komodo LCD, and it seemed
    that the lamps were all working. If I can separate the
    lamps from the cracked LCD screen, are they worth something?

    Or not worth the effort?

      If the backlight assembly is easy to get off and working, why not?
      Just make sure to list what panel model the backlight assembly came from (if you sell the whole thing instead of the bare CCFLs)

      I've sold a few from 32" LCDs but ended up getting lazy and sold whole (cracked) panels with tested & working backlights. Buyer can worry about how to take it apart lol :P (also less risk of them getting damaged)

          If they work someone will buy them.

          Just make sure to ship them properly because they're really fragile.

              At least one company ships CCFLs inside an appropriate length of 3/4" Schedule 20 PVC pipe. With a little bubble wrap around the CCFLs they are pretty secure in there.

                  I ordered some replacement CCFLs from china, and that's how they arrived. Nothing broken, I'd say it's good enough. The only addition to what Plainbill said is they were banded together with a rubber band around the bubble wrap.

                      Hello everyone!

                      Recently I've noticed that some ShopJimmy backlight strips don't have double-sided tape installed upon them when an application calls for it, and I must purchase the tape separately. In a recent chat conversation with a customer service agent I told them if this tape wasn't applied when it was called for I would begin to consider ordering my backlight strips elsewhere. It looks like this time may have come.

                      So lately i tried with ebay "not working motherboards". I ordered a few broken motherboards from ebay but i have found out that there are many scammers on ebay. The most of them are selling already destroyed motherboards with pictures in low resolution, some of them are being scammed and just scam forwarding...

                      I am Repairing this unit. It had many problems. One major one was the power transformer being about 4-5 volts low on the main B+ line which called for 66.5 Vols after the Main Filter caps but only showing about 62 Volts. Caps and the 5 amp Diode bridge were replaced which helped slightly.

                      The other strange problem was the small secondary winding from the PT which supplies 18 Volts AC to the "FM FLUORESCENT DISPLAY" circuit, and the small winding that supplies 8 Volts AC to the push button grain of wheat lamps. Those voltages were down from 18 Volts to 16 volts. Which was...

                      You find these on ebay all the time. Seller feedback is good in regards to them being legit...but I'm still leary. Anyone with experience with these? Seems quite a few around here are running enterprise; and unless ya'll are stealing the keys from your employers, where are you getting them?

                      An ebay seller shipped me this broken tablet by mistake, and so I got my money back, but there are a decent amount of these seemingly in perfect shape but with screen issues (this tablet was clearly a return that had never been used or setup, so I don't think any physical damage occurred, also is a kids model so large bumpers on cover that isn't in picture) Is this a loose lvds cable or anything repairable beyond replacing the screen which would come with its own integrated tcon which is maybe where the problem would be?

                      The power on screens just exhibit the sideways smear, once...
