Yes. Those parts labeled FLx are on the YSUS and ZSUS boards, under the heat sink and under the IPM.
Fusible Link sound appropriate; they do read 0 ohms (or very close) across them.

I made the mistake of ordering the replacement IPMs before checking for replies back here. D'oh! I paid 17USD for the ZSUS IPM. I didn't realize substitute ZSUS boards were available. I also now see that the original part number is only about 30 USD on eBay too.

There's that path with found broken TVs that starts with the exploration phase, moves on to the investigation phase. Then the trying different solutions phase, and finally branch of solution phase, or the "get this mess out of the house" phase. I think I'm getting close to that last one.

Hi guys, never did post a follow up to this.. mainly because the set isn't fixed yet! Got a secondhand y-sus board from an online supplier of plasma and LCD spares. Just about to power it up on my next visit to the workshop (it was buried under a ton of other stuff hence taking so long!). Is there any way to protect my new board in case one or both of the buffers is shot ?

Test the buffers beforehand. In general these boards are usually OK with bad buffers. (they can sometimes kill buffers though that is rare.)

Thanks tom66, all ok it seems. However am having trouble remembering where one of the cables goes. There are two cables that look like they are shielded data cables, one goes from the logic board to the very left hand side (marked in green) The other one marked in red, I cant find where it plugs in, one end goes on the logic board, the other - I cant remember! I stripped this set down in early 2012 so cant recall was it even plugged into anything.

The photo attached is the original I took in Jan. 2012 with arrows pointing to where the cables are. It appears like the cable goes under the logic board, however I can't find a socket for it anywhere!

Anyone got one of these models or an idea where this second cable goes to?

Tried it without the cable plugged in and am not getting a picture, so am not sure if its because of the cable or something else. (the screen is black but illuminated as if there is just no video signal to it)

Hi again!

Finally got more time to look at this, turns out the cable plugs in underneath the lower PCB on another board.

I have just sourced a buffer board and replaced it due to the original getting a bit hot. Now I have nothing but sparklies.

Is this a board problem or do I need to adjust the tv to suit the new buffer board? (pic was perfect on old board, just a couple of the chips were getting hotter than the others)

Spent another evening at the LG last night, removed the board and re-seated the ribbons. Didn't make any difference.

Will try swapping the buffer board back to the old one.

Swapped back to old buffer board and picture returned. Assume this was a faulty item(thankfully the ebayer refunded me)

Will try to find another.

One of the MOSFETS on the buffer-board is short-circuit I expect....

...er, I haven't had a PC1DA for over 2 years now. I stay well clear of them for a laundry list of reasons.
