OK just Checked them, I have 119v coming in on the 120v line and both these caps measure 163v. Took me a second to realize I had to set my meter to DC. Thanks!

Re: Toshibia 40rv525u Green Blinking light and questions about Caps!!

Your power board is full of high quality "Japcaps" (Japanese capacitors.) These rarely fail. I have never seen a failed Chemicon KY and they are most likely not your problem. I have only ever seen one failed Rubycon, on this forum, but it was most likely due to the failure of some poor quality "Elite" capacitors on the power supply. Generally with bad caps the output voltages become low (too low for operation of the TV) but they are *not* zero.

I can't remember - did you check all the diodes?

Check the two diodes I have highlighted (black) with TV unplugged using the diode test mode.

Check the pink resistor I have highlighted - should appear close to zero ohms.

I checked the three main diodes on the big heatsink on the secondary side. That was all.

The two diodes measure 482 one way and out of range the other way.

The Pink Resistor Measures 2 ohms.

          Thanks!

Hmm. 2 ohms seems quite high. What do your multimeter probes measure when touched together?

Checked again with the Craftsman meter.

And Got 1.4 Ohms. Probes touched together measured 0.6 so I am assuming that its around 0.7-0.8 Ohms

That seems more reasonable. Still a bit high, but probably okay.

Do you have a photo taken from an angle looking underneath the primary heatsink? (The one near the big caps.)

I suspect your switching controller is bad, but let's see if there are any hidden fuses under there.

Yes, I had an LG LCD with a separate one for the main and standby supplies.

Underneath the heatsink on the side near the big caps but on the side with the components (not the green side.)

They're good. Nothing important unqder the heatsinks. That's disappointing, I was hoping to see a fuse or something like that.

What are the part #'s on the chips on the bottom?

Okay, check the voltage between these two pins with PSON both high and low using the resistor.

You should get around 9 to 16V if it is working okay, typically when PSON is high. When PSON is low, it might drop below 9V. If the voltage here isn't high enough, it points to a problem in the pre-charge or the standby power part.

                                            Hi there,

I have this ASUS X453MA Laptop that's not turning on. When I plug in the charger, the green light just keeps on blinking and pressing the power button does nothing.

I have checked the charger and it is giving 19+ V

I have disconnected the battery and pressed power button for 30 seconds.

                                            I tried another RAM stick.

Tried disconnecting the keyboard and touchpad.

Tried disconnecting the HDD and the wifi adapter.

                                            The problem persists.

Hope you could help me out on this one. Thank you.

                                            Hi

Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.

Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first β€˜decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.

The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.

I have already tried replacing all of the...

                                            Hi

I have an 820-2610-A motherboard that has no green light.
I have noticed is when I do a SMC reset the light on the Magsafe blinks.
From My understanding, the sys onewire circuit is responsible for the green light on the magsafe
The sys onewire circuit on this model and others is more involved
I was hoping if anyone knows about this and how it works, can reply and let me know
I know this is an old model but I am sure there are people who still works on these or knows about them

I get 1.1v on the C7771 capacitor and will replace...

Hello, I am trying to bring back to life my Toshiba 55U7863DG, which has never been the most reliable device - keep on annoying me with its slowness and some random start-up/shutdown issues requiring to unplug the AC. But yesterday it finally said goodbye and decided to not turn on again. Green light is blinking, I've seen this behaviour before and thought that these are some temporary whims again, but unfortunately not this time.

I have checked that my TV is build based on the 17MB130S board, which seems to be quite popular and easy to buy as a used one. Still I would like to ask...
