Re: Yamaha YPG-635 Keyboard with No Sound
So, unfortunately I got a replacement LA 4625 in yesterday and soldered it in, but no luck on getting it alive, I verified all the pins are connected well and there are no shorts. Any other ideas before I let this one go?

How does Pin 2 work?

Re: Yamaha YPG-635 Keyboard with No Sound
Pin 4 has just below 5 volts, I'm thinking you meant R205 which seems to be correct. Voltage on Pin5 is Present and Pin 7. Voltage is between 4-4.5v on the speaker pins.
I'm assuming that this means LA 4625 is dead?
Also the ribbon cable pictured pretty much feel apart, the plastic tabs just feel off, I bent the pins back and superglued it back together but I'm not counting on it surviving me taking it out and replacing it again when I solder the new parts in. How can I find a replacement for this? Can it be...

Re: Yamaha YPG-635 Keyboard with No Sound
Here are some photos and an update,
I built myself a little signal tracer with a headphone amplifier. And found out I have sound on Pins 1 and 6 of the LA4625. I have 11.75 on Pin 14. What else can I check? I'm assuming as of now that LA4625 is dead?...

Yamaha YPG-635 Keyboard with No Sound
I have a Yamaha YPG-635 that will not make any sound either thru the headphones or the speakers, I'm thinking that the amplifier/power PCB is no good. I've tried to go thru and reset all the menu settings as well. Does anyone have recommendations on what I can troubleshoot on the board?
Also, if there is a better place to post this related to circuit repair please let me know. Thanks!
Here are a few photos of the board. I can pull it and get a photo of the traces tomorrow.

Re: Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Components Question
Which resistor are you referring too? Also, I have not been able to find 180ohm metal oxide resistors over 1W in stock anywhere, I have or order 500 or more and most places won't have them shipped to me until after 9/25. Would using 1/2 watt resistors be fine in the second circuit.

Also, the resistors are 2210ohms correct?Re: Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Componen... have not beenLast edited by ComputerGeek; 08-16-2013, 10:15 AM.

Re: Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Components Question
Perfect, I will venture to guess that I didn't explain very well about the second circuit, the second circuit is a converter from 48-52v phantom power to 12t power, instead of the battery operated one. Would that make any difference with your recommendation on the cap voltage? Since the other two caps are in the 48v I understand why they need to be 63v, but I was just wondering about the other one.

Re: Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Components Question
OK Great, Sorry I promise I'll stop pestering you soon, lol.
It is correct that I can't use a polarized Cap for C1 and C2 right?
Also, in the thread the guy who made the circuit mentions, "The value of R3 (2K5 ohms) is just a rough guess. If you make it too low, you waste battery capacity in uselessly heating up D1 and R3. Conversely, if you make it too small, the voltage may droop under heavy load." Would you stay with the same value?
And One last thing, in this circuit, http://www.uneeda-audio.com/phantom/p48t122.jpg...

Re: Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Components Question
Ok, you guy's have helped out immensely, but I still have a couple questions?
1N5242B seems to have a max power of 500mW, does that mean 1/2 watt metal film resistors would be fine?
Both Nichicon KL and Panasonic FM are polarized, however from the links you sent me it would appear that I need to use either a bipolar (non-polarised) electrolytic Cap, polyester cap, or a Polypropylene cap for C1 and C2. Is this correct?
C3 can be polarized and doesn't nearly have to be as high spec. Correct?...Last edited by ComputerGeek; 08-15-2013, 06:02 PM.

Re: Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Components Question
Do the three caps in the circuit act as coupling caps? If it was you what would you use?
So I should use polarized electrolytic? Or Tantalum in my somewhat rusty brain, I think I recall reading that Tantalum or Film are better for audio, or am I way off?
I was going to use http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DKSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&itemSeq=134317288&uq=635121847154107572 for D1? is that ok? 1N5242B seems to have a max power of 500mW, does that mean 1/2 watt resistors would be fine?

Re: Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Components Question
Ok Carbon Film Resistors, would going with more than 1% be wise, or just a waste? Any Brand that you would get?
In the article they mention this,
"The supply voltage is superimposed on the signal voltage and therefore needs to be exceptionally well filtered. In multiple microphone systems the mutual decoupling - the isolation that pre- vents the leaking of audio signals via the common supply rail - must similarly be of a high order."
Which is why I want to make sure the...

Help Somewhat Urgent!!! Components Question
Hey guys I need to order components to build the circuit below within the next two days at most. And I had a few questions about the circuit,
First off, I am trying to build this curcuit http://www.rcrowley.com/T12pwr.jpg mentioned in this thread, http://help.lockergnome.com/movies/phantom-48v-power-12v-adapter--ftopict73571.html . In addition I will be building this one as well. http://www.uneeda-audio.com/phantom/p48t122.jpg This will be used with a expensive vintage microphone, so i want the components to be as good as possible.

Help Need Idea's on Repairing this H4n Audio Recorder!
Hey guys so I picked this Zoom 4n Audio Recorder up off of ebay AS IS and I figured I would give it a shot. Well got it in and the power switch was missing as I expected. I tried using a paperclip to turn it on but no go! So here goes.
Here's what I have done so far, tested that the board is getting power from the batteries. Reseated all the connectors. Ran it with as few boards as possible. Used a Microscope to search the entire three boards for a damaged/burnt components. Found out the wires coming off the Main Board go to the Aux Power Jack 5v 1AMP on the bottom. Tested to see...Last edited by ComputerGeek; 07-08-2013, 06:42 PM.

Re: ATI Radeon 9800XT 256MB Video Card Cap Fallen off and Inductor Missing
I don't know what the amperage would be. I found this .pdf on Falco's Website.
https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/68d63412e98b490157f83c215548ed15.pdf
Dimensions seem to indicate that it is either SDIP0804LP or SDIP0804, however the markings are not the same. Any idea what the 0419 means on mine? Still should I use the specs on the Data Sheet to find a new one? It would be either D08037 or D08001 which are rated [5.90 | 15] [MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE CURRENT (Amps) ** | DCR...
