If you can't find it, provide more pictures of the front side on the board. We may need to see the chips attached to the heatsinks.
PS. The fet will be on the hot side of the board.Last edited by retiredcaps; 01-15-2012, 07:20 PM.--- begin sig file ---
If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Whilst I'm no expert, I can't see any physical damage so I suspect it's flux residue as I can see other components with similar but smaller marks. Most of the marks will rub off with an alcohol swab.Stolen Sig: I want my own Law, like Ohm, Murphy and Cole.Comment

Those are numbered Q8001 and Q8003. The component at Q8001, again cleverly hidden under a heatsink, is numbered DE3523 which Google tells me is a Power MOSFET. How should I test it? Remember I'm new to this so I would appreciate the "idiots" guide.

1) Number the pins 1, 2, and 3.
2) Measure the resistance between pins 1-2, 1-3, and 2-3. You can perform this in circuit.
3) Any reading under 30 ohms suggests a short and requires you to desolder the component and retest out of circuit.--- begin sig file ---

Re: Phillips 50PF7220A/37B - seven red flashing lights.
Hello gents. I have a similar issue. The symptoms is that I get the red flashing light. When I unplug and replug the power cord, I can hear a relay or switch inside the TV. The light start off green but it will disappear then the red light comes on without the tv powering up. The funny thing is that unplugging the TV works sometimes. I opened the back of my tv to look for any obvious damage but there isn't any visual damages or burnt smell. I know it has to be a switching device but I haven't troubleshoot a circuit board in many years plus I have no schematic. Just looking for some kind of help. I know has to be a simple fix. Thanks in advance.Comment

by STKR123As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.
As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.
There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,... -

by TVAddictHello everyone, so the problem is the tv would seem to power up when i hit the power button as i would hear a relay click, sometimes it may give me a good picture for about 5 secs or so, sometimes i get a black screen, then shortly after it will click back off and i get power and opc lights flashing together twice followed by one flash of the opc light then it repeats.
Please correct me if i'm wrong but i understand the flash sequence indicates a possible power supply problem, can anyone say if this is accurate information? So going on that i went ahead and tried a factory reset, checked... -
by berrmichI have the above TV. Black screen. Power blinks 2 times. OPC blinks once. Plug in with channeldown/volup. Powers up with solid green power but no light. I removed, cleaned and tightened the screwed on the inverters. I tested plug coming from the power supply to the inverter board when unplugged. INV12V shows 7.4 V DC. INV60V shows 0.1 or something like that. After plugging in the cable I don't get meaningful voltage from either one. (I measured after booting the TV with channeldown/volup.)
Is this a bad power supply? Or am I measuring something wrong.

by davetheshrewSo Ive aquired a rx6800xt which i believe was dropped at some point by previous owner, it artifacts (pixels shifting) in desktop and in 3dmark i get disco lights (multicoloured flashes. Ive ruled out the ram because I can mine eth (very ram dependent) or heavier algo's full power without issue or stale shares/errors. Ive tested resitances and they seem to be good on all points (12v, mem, pcie lanes etc). Under microscope theres no missing components. A repair guy said to me its likely dying core which got me thinking.
Since it was dropped is it possible some balls cracked under the... - Loading...
