Re: sony KDL-32s3000 vert lines colored
Those are horizontal lines not vertical. That looks like its either a mainboard, or t-con (control board), problem. Could also be other things though, this forum is generally not for just guessing at what might be wrong.
Does the on screen menu's get lines too? (click menu to pull up the menu) Do other things conected to the tv (game consoles, dvd players) get lines also?Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.Comment

Re: sony KDL-32s3000 vert lines colored
I would check the ribbons that connect to the LCD panel itself. Ran in to a couple of these where there was not a good connection. Used a hot air resolder station and went over the ribbons a few times and it corrected the problem. When I did this I laid a small peace a metal on the screen so I didn't damage the screen.Comment

Re: sony KDL-32s3000 vert lines colored
No lines on the Menu???
That should be a dead giveaway to you that the problem is the main board. The only part that can differentiate between the menu and the other signals is the mainboard. The T-con has no idea what it is displaying, the ribbon cable has no idea what its displaying. The only part that treats the menu different from the sources is the mainboard.
Now this could also be a problem with your source (attenna, cable splitters, digital cable box, coax wire). So you should keep all those thing constant and test with another TV, and see if the other TV has the same issue.
Also test if the lines only occur on the TV input, or do they also occur on game consoles, dvd players and other things you can connect to the tv.1Last edited by cashkennedy; 12-11-2011, 01:23 PM.Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.Comment

Yep, good luck getting a mainboard. You could also just get a hdmi cable box as well / and never fix the tv if you wanted. But the rest of the mainboard might go out shortly after.Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.Comment

by ggil44Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

by ChrissygizmoHello again everyone,
This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…
I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried... -
by noisykid5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

by thstuffThis "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.
Thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1091829 helped in proceeding as follows:
1) Unplugged, then plugged set in while holding the remote VOL- and Power to factory reset.
2) Waited 30 seconds, then pressed remote Power button and "Select language"...01-30-2023, 05:01 PM - Loading...
