Hi mate. just heard back and for me it was a faulty tcon. haven't viewed the unit yet. just got the call. hope this helps in some way, apparently the part was about $150 from Sanyo. maybe u can source a new unit from them?

Cheers, Thanks. That's what I heard too so at least their pricing is consistent(Sydney).

what I ended up with was viewable. I've just offloaded it but it appears to me this is what goes on these sets and around the 2 year mark.

I'm just glad my diagnosis was correct, good learning experience.

i have the same problem too with my Sanyo LCD 37xr9da and im hoping that i can fix it.
