I know what you mean,,,,,,,,,I'm using my wife's table in her sunroom! If I knew for sure that there WEREN'T any other boards, I would jump on it I think I'll wait and see if Bill agrees with you about there being no other boards! Another opinion can't hurt,,,,although I do appreciate your help too!

Bill and Tom, Would you please look at this posting on ebay:

        http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320634040846

This is the exact model number and part number on the Inverter/PS Board on my TV. Included with the Inverter/PS Board are two other boards (pictured on the Ebay ad) that MUST BE the Inverter Slave Boards. But can't find either on on the back of my tv.

Other ads have shown the Inverter/Power Supply Board by itself (on one board) like mine..........................but most done show the other two boards with it.

Please give me an opinion on this! Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with the forty board!!! You obviously didn't look at the pictures in the Ebay ad! If you had, you'd have seen that in addition to that Forty dollar board (The Inverter/Power Supply Combination) on the this ad, there were TWO (or maybe just one with dark line in the middle) GREEN BOARDS,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that I suspect might be the Inverter Slave Boards. It sure DOESN'T LOOK like my green main board!!!! They are all listed under THAT ONE NUMBER on the board,,,,,,,,MEANING THEY ALL WORK TOGETHER IN THE INVERTER PROCESS?????????

THE FORTY DOLLAR BOARD would work to swap out the Inverter/Power Supply Board,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but IS THERE A SLAVE BOARD that I haven't found.

THAT WAS MY QUESTION, IS THE GREEN BOARD LISTED ON THIS EBAY AD, THE INVERTER'S SLAVE BOARD THAT I HAVE BEEN ASKING ABOUT?? Do you understand what I meant now?

OK, it's time for a reality check.

              1. The auction is for a single board. One picture is of the top of the board. Another is of the bottom side of the board. The other three pictures are of various labels on the board and the TV.

              2. The seller is listing this as New, but it was "PULLED FROM WORKING 42" VIZIO LCD, MODEL # VIZIO VO420E". In my book, that is USED.

              3. The seller's feedback rating is dubious, at best.

In my opinion, this is NOT a power supply issue.

Before changing the inverters, have you checked the secondaries of the transformers to verify if they are good or bad?

Bill,,,,,,Thank you very much, you were correct, it was the bottom of the "same" board.

RMOODY, I think now, that you were also right, in your 9/8 posting, when you said the inverter might be "built into" the Power Supply Board. Bill stated that he didn't think the power supply was bad and I agree with him now, but since I now believe the inverter IS built into the PS Board, in order to swap out boards, you get the Inverter/Power Supply all in one board. SO,,,,,I ordered the board from the TMS, Inc. website. I just hope this is the right move and I'll let you know if it works or not, for your future reference. I almost didn't post on this forum, because of the reference to mainly "Bad Capacitors", but am glad I did because you were basically the ONLY people who tried to help me (even though I started sounding like a "pain in the butt"), but I was just trying to be as sure as I could be! (I think it's pretty bad when a company (VIZO) that sells you merchandise and takes your money, refuses to even lift a finger to help you solve the problem when THEIR product is not reliable! Thanks again to all that helped!

UPDATE ON VIZIO - Model: VO420E - Black Screen, No Sound (No Anything)

Hi all!!! Good things to report. Received my combination Inverter/Power Supply from TMS this morning,,,,,,,installed it, and ALL IS WELL. As Bill said and I had surmised, it was not a power supply issue BUT, I had to replace the power supply as well as the Inverter since they were both located on the same board. There were "no other" inverters or slave inverter boards on this model TV.

So, as I was told "off the record" by a "tech" that does repair work for VIZIO, as well as one of the people that sell the boards, I HAD A INVERTER BOARD PROBLEM!!!

                        THEY BOTH SAID:
When I had a completely BLACK SCREEN (no light anywhere) and NO SOUND when the tv was PLUGGED IN and the Vizio logo showed up ORANGE. When I hit the power button on the remote,,,,or the button on the side of the tv, the Vizio logo turned WHITE, but still BLACK SCREEN AND NO SOUND that it was an Inverter Board problem. Hope this helps someone!

If it had been a Vizio model with a separate Inverter board, I would have just replaced that board, and not the power supply, but on this model they were on the same board.

I still don't understand why I had some of the weird voltage readings on the main board....................but I did absolutely nothing to that board.....and the TV works fine after replacing the Inverter. Many thanks to Bill, Tom, and RMoody for their input!

BUT BEWARE,,,,,,,,HE'S GIVING ME A MAGNAVOX WHEN HE PICKS UP THE VIZIO,,,,,,,,,,SO YOU'RE NOT "RID OF ME" YET!! I don't know what the symptoms were on his Magnavox,,,,,,,,,,but you'll probably be hearing from me soon again!

Thanks for the warning. I'm going to tear down my computer and clean the dust off the main board, polish the caps or something.
