27: ILO lcd V27DMBX no power issue fixed

another craigslist special. No power, no led, nothing.

Tore it down, caps are no name but none bulged. A good lookover of the power supply found a BROKEN solder joint at a leg of a transformer( see pics)

all joints of transformer were reflowed. STILL NO POWER. No standby 5v, nothing.

Replaced the little 22uf startup cap, fired right up, works great!

Hey Cadillac man, i have the same tv and same problem as the ilo v27dmbx you posted...you suggested replacing a 22mf starter cap and your problem was solved...i couldn't figure out exactly which one to replace as there are over 7 of them...i saw the pictures and i was not sure if it was of the model # stickers or the if it was the 22mf cap in the bottom of the picture with the stickers you were referencing as the bad cap. i replaced the one by the sticker and still not working...moved it around to other spots, and retried with no luck...wondering if maybe it is on the power board and not the main board. there are no visible swollen caps anywhere or bad solder joints...everything looks new. any help you could shine on my problem would be great! thanks in advance.

I think he is talking about C36 the startup cap for the 5v standby power supply on the power supply board.

sorry for the late reply, i dont get a chance to surf the net much these days.

IIRC c36 was my magic fix. A proper fix would have been to replace all the caps but in my case, that got her going.

I know this is old but I have the same TV and problem and I see C36 seems to be the small brown cap, is this correct?? I circled it in the pic.

OK, im runnin the 32' version of this same set, initially dead, changed powersupply, comes up to blue screen for a second and goes off, but led light on front stays green, changed mainboard DTV3218ATM, now when ya press power it comes out of standby for a second and light turns red again, no start at all, put original board back in, get original problem, ordered another main board , and i get the 2nd problem again, red light no screen at all... Dont think 2 new boards are gonna be screwed up the same way, scratchin my head on this one...

                Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue
                by GLISIT
                Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 Power-On Issue (Troubleshooting Assistance)
                by justice171
I am seeking guidance on an Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 that does not turn on when pressing the power button.

Below are the observations and troubleshooting steps I have taken so far: Observations and Tests:
                1. Verified that all critical voltages are present:
                  • 3.3V and 5V are always present if DC is plugged.
                  • 1.8V on the BIOS chip is present.
                2. Checked the power button functionality:
                  • When pressed, the voltage drops to 0V, indicating the button is functional.
                3. Inspected the flex cable connecting the USB, audio, and power button to JUB1:
                  • Confirmed connectivity is intact, ruling out issues

                by claws77
hi guys, my motherboard will not start no matter what
when connected to ac power, the battery does get charge, led indicator glows red when discharged and turns white as it is fully charged.
but rest nothing happens no sign of life.

this laptop has one preexisting usbc power issue - so i use DCIN jack for charging my laptop.
with this issue my laptop was unable to power ON only sometimes i just had to wait some time.
but now nothing happens no matter how much i wait/ charge/ press and hold power button.

i have no knowledge of motherboards ....

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                Assuming...

Dell G3 17 3779 Weird power cycling and shutdown/restart issue
                by SuperJames
This one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.

                Specs

i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.

                Backstory

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...
