This is a defective LCD panel.

Could also be a defective tcon board or a bad connection between the tcon and the panel.
It looks like it's in about 1/4 of the screen. Mant TCON boards have 4 connectors going to the panel. I would first check the connections. There is a small tab that runs across the connector that must be popped up to remove the cable (they are delicate). remove the dables and clean the cable bare side GENTLY with a pencil eracer. You might also try replacing the tecon board. The tecon board is usually under a shield at the top of the panel

          Hello Guys,
I found the TCON board - Pictures attached, correct me if I am wrong - And I am having difficulty removing the cable, any suggestions please?

The cable that went into the silver connector came out no problem.

          Thanks in advance,

          Jon

This might be a latching connector. One part will lift up, then the cable will slide out. Don't force it!!! Pictures from several angles would help.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

Note the black line across the blue portion of the ribbon cable. This is the insertion depth indicator. Just below that line there is a hinged latch. That will pull up and release the cable.

Note: In the other picture there is a PC board permanently connected to the LCD panel. There are 4 ribbon cables running from that board to the panel. Imagine a matrix of cells feed by each ribbon to the cells. That matrix is not getting green control signals from the electronics or ribbon that feeds it. It could be the ribbon that has come apart from the panel. It could be a failure of the electronics on the PC board. Neither is repairable and the problem will continue.

Re: Technika LCD 26 207 Colour fault on right hand side of screen

Village Electronics, you are correct, there is a fault / break in the cable (The one in the red box in the picture) leading to the LCD panel.

I noticed that when pressing the cable the fault came and went, so done a bodge job and managed to get the TV working again.

Not perfect but it will do :-)

Thanks for all the help guys,

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                  by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                  Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

                  by smic717394
                  Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                  • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
                  • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
                  • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
                  • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
                  • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display
