if the ghosting parts of the lcd panel are super slow to respond, like acid-trippy, then most likely you have a bad lcd panel( tab bond issues)

search sony kdl on youtube youll see a couple different "fixes" for it.

Post #3 hoadle's linked to the photos of LCD failure modes is excellent but these links within that article links to upsell info stuff links. Do not spam this.

Post #4, you cannot do this. Either change T-CON or send LCD to the LCD repair place there is one or two out there that specialize in repairing these.

I advise all do not *ATTEMPT* to repair LCD itself except T-CON or CCFL. The tape bond process is done with ultrasonic equipment in exacting process and very delicate to bond both LCD substrate and narrow circuit boards that runs along the LCD edge to the tape IC drivers.

Opening up an old wound. I have a KDL-32L5000 and just like all these ones, I get the blurred bottom half of the screen as well as one horizontal line in the middle of the screen. I sprayed cold spray along the edges and the picture cleared up but the one horizontal stayed. Am I safe to assume the panel is bad?

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 had vertical lines

Well I just purchase a Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 TV on-line just recently. The seller listed it as just having a problem with the remote sensor, but to my surprise it too has received the impending fate as such with the ghosting lines throughout the screen similar to the pictures listed in the original post. It seems like such a pity that some people have to hide things like this in order to sell their product, as if no one will notice. Now the only question I may have is whether to try and fix this (which I'm leaning towards) or to try and put up a hassle with the seller to try return this for a return of my money?
I'm fairly sure it wont be a LCD panel issue as the picture is fine until the unit completely warms up(5 minutes or more), then and only then I receive shifting horizontal lines and shifting ghosting images throughout the screen. This leads me to believe this is most likely a T-con board issue. As to why or whats the cause it would be interesting to know. Now the only problem I have is the handful of sources I have for TV manuals do not include this model in their library. So I would be grateful to anyone that has a source to which this model is included. Also it would be interesting to hear what some common problems with T-con boards and why some of these problems occur.
