  • Re: large caps to replace battery in my car

For starters I highly doubt the person left radio on all night to which the car started the next day. Supercapacitors have very low energy densities, thus they would not be able to sustain an amount of discharge for a extended amount of time. That would mean that a series of supercapacitors in a size that would be comparable to a battery of similar size would most likely be out preformed by a battery by 30 times or more. If a battery could not last a night with the radio on, there would be no chance a supercapacitor ever would....

  • Re: Asrock G41M-VS3 is using SAMXON caps

If you'd look at what Topcat has to sell, you might notice that he sells Samxon capacitors.

In that being said, I don't think you should have any concerns as they wouldn't sell any capacitors of that nature if they were inferior.

Topcat is quoted as calling them as "'middle grade'", just so you know.Re: Asrock G41M-VS3 is using SAMXON ...acitors.<br />

  • Re: Please help me identify these caps

You need to try and take a clear picture of the opposite side of those capacitors, as there is obviously some sort of logo and whatnot on the back side of them.

It looks like it could be perhaps JEE capacitors?

Yeah, I was going to say that the doc's say the that they made the move from pvc to pet, and the pre 2011's were blue/dark purple and the black ones are the newer pet 2011 or newer ones.

Yeah probably something similar to the YXA series except I think they are suppose to be 5000 Hrs @ 105degC. What color are the capacitors by the way?

Seems to me that a datasheet is hard to come by if not impossible, as I've seen many people have been searching for datasheet's on this particular series for years.
From all accounts and tests I've seen, it seems to be a general purpose, -40 to 105 temp, -/+ 20 tolerance, not particularly low esr type, long life capacitor. Beyond that I can't really tell you much more, as my search for data on this series has come up nil.

I'm not sure why you would want to replace your car battery and resort to trying to use capacitors? It seams very impractical, as to what advantage would you ever gain in doing so?

  • Re: New Members - please post your introductions here

Well hello all, in sense I'm new here. I have visited the site many times in the past to have many inquisitive reads from many of the intuitive posts on this forum, and I've finally decided it was time to make my presents felt. Why you may ask? Well the all mighty quest for knowledge of coarse.
Well a little about myself..., I am from the great state of Iowa. I do dabble in some computer repair and some other basic electronics's repair, self taught of coarse. When I have the time to mess around I do build and have several...

  • Re: Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 had vertical lines

Well I just purchase a Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 TV on-line just recently. The seller listed it as just having a problem with the remote sensor, but to my surprise it too has received the impending fate as such with the ghosting lines throughout the screen similar to the pictures listed in the original post. It seems like such a pity that some people have to hide things like this in order to sell their product, as if no one will notice. Now the only question I may have is whether to try and fix this (which I'm leaning towards) or to try...
