Obviously there are a fault in the Z-SUS board, since the powersupply operates normally without it. Examine the area around the big heatsink. Under that heatsink there are a so called IPM, a hybrid integrated circuit, a very common failure on both Z-SUS and Y-SUS boards.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Re: LG MZ-42PZ44 42" Plasma Television (stuck in stadby)
The MOSFET's/IPM on the Z sustain board are probably shorted. You can check this by putting an ohm meter across the 190V and ground supply at the power connector on the board. If it's low it's shorted.
I'm replacing a Y sustain board on a Samsung for the same reason, shorted MOSFET's on this one; even though the PSU fired up and provided power to the board which in turn opened the fuse on the board. I was going to replace the MOSFET's but I figure that the rest of the board might be suspect too.Soundcraft CPS-450 and CPS-550 (Rebuilds - Completed!)

Re: LG MZ-42PZ44 42" Plasma Television (stuck in stadby)
Yea, see the thing is a lot of people think that when a Plasma/LCD dont work it's the PSU when there's plenty to go wrong.
Look at the Z sus board closely for a part number and post it here.
I've got a feeling that a brand ne LG board will be less than a ton.
EDIT:
Your right. This is a brand new one here...Last edited by Remeniz; 02-01-2011, 03:14 PM.Soundcraft CPS-450 and CPS-550 (Rebuilds - Completed!)
