I checked the fuse. It's showing .28v with the power on. The other fuse on the board stays at 0v.

Fuses are checked for resistance with a multimeter; a working fuse should show a short circuit!Comment

When I set it to Ohms it bounced around all over the place. DigiKey's website recommends checking voltage for a fuse that's in-circuit. A working fuse should show 0v.

You need to unplug (de-energize) the TV from the outlet, and then measure the resistance of the fuses.Comment

I checked it and I get 1.000 both ways. My meter only has one ohms setting so that's what I used. The other fuse read good.Comment

Yep. The one with the red stripe. Question though, do 125v and 250v fuses have to be checked differently? I checked another suspected good 250v fuse and it also read 1.000, but when I checked a 125v it tested good. Meter is set to AC and Ohms (the only seeing I have).Comment

Any serviceable, working fuse should show 0 Om on the multimeter; a faulty, non-working fuse will not show anything.Comment

So the first thing I should do now is replace that fuse and see what happens? All I have on hand is the one I tested that was the correct fuse but also showed 1.000, and a couple 7.5A 250v. Would it not be a good idea to replace a 5A with a 7.5A?Comment

At this point, this is not the best option, since mosfets and diodes have not been tested, it is better to use a 100W incandescent lamp instead of a fuse for testing; if the power supply works, then install a regular 5A fuse.Comment

I've heard of the light bulb thing but I've never done it. How would I connect it in place of the fuse? Incandescent bulbs were banned in the US a few months ago. I may have a 100w, or possible a 3 way. Otherwise I think all i have is 60w.Comment

Solder a lamp socket with two wires into the place of the fuse or solder it on top to the ends, try at 60w, if not at 100w.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Problem
This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached.... -
Hi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
