Looks pretty bright to me. It's a 72w bulb. Doesn't flicker, dim, or go off.

I suppose I'll check those two transistors next. Do I have to remove them to check them or can I check them in circuit?

Btw, attached is a photo of the same multimeter I have. As you can see it's pretty basic.

buy replacement power boards before yours eyes degree go down to zero. LOL

It isn't worth it and I don't want to take a risk on it. I get these tvs for free and resell them, but if something else is wrong I lose money on them. My other thread about the 55" TCL is the perfect example. I put over $30 of new boards into it and it has a panel problem, so I just lost on it rather than making a profit.

I would hate to put a new board in this tv and find that backlights are bad or the panel is bad. Testing and replacing these small components is cost effective and little risk other than electrocution 😏

but if some one come and like to have this profit with out KNOW HOW... then what ells we can do.

i am not against you or any whom like to make money from TV so expensive but you could find it on down street or free to give up.... but repair need ito invest too...
the last point yours KNOW HOW on TV ZERO 0 so are you going to do it in this way ??? ZERO TV with ZERO replacement.... LOL think about it

I truly am grateful for this community and all who have helped me over the years, you included! I wish to learn how to diagnose things at the board level. I see other posts on here where the experts did deep and I want to have an understanding of how these things work and how to troubleshoot. It's amazing to me how smart done of these guys are!

Update: I followed these instructions (hopefully correctly) and have results.

Connect the negative probe of the multimeter to the base output (usually it is a black probe), and the positive (red) first to the collector and then to the emitter. Obtaining a value in the range of~500 -1500 Ohm confirms correct operation of the transistor.

On one transistor I get 9.9 on both the collector and emitter legs on the 20 scale. The other transistor showed 8.6 on the collector and 6.4 on the emitter on the 200 scale. My meter is auto range so that's why the results are in 20 and 200 scales. I'm guessing these are substantial differences and might indicate one of them is faulty? I checked this with no power as well.

It's fixed. I replaced the transistor with the mismatched resistance and also the fuse. I got a new multimeter today and that helped.

Just a follow up in regards to this.. the tv is working now, but I have several single pixel lines running across the bottom a little more than half way across. This is something I could not have predicted and certainly lowers the value significantly. Rather than just throwing a $50-$80 power supply board in it, I replaced 3 shorted components and it cost nothing. I now have a better understanding of how to test the components and identify the faulty ones. My experience and skill has increased because I asked the questions I did. Regardless of my intentions, I am still here as a Knowledge Seeker and the more questions I ask the more I can learn.

as i said before we are happy to to tell you what need... but there are some issue need more equipment's to know which part ( IC / R /C ) defect... and this of sure you will never invest to have them... so we said replace boards... cause now days boards are cheap to win time and effort
