Re: Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA ~ No Picture or Sound - 5 Res Light Blinks
Here are the voltages in detail on the primary connector:
First, the odds
1 (LD) = 3.6 (note, this pin does not have a wire leading to the main board: it is empty)
3 (GND)= 0.0
5 (B13v) = 14.7
7 (B13v) = 14.7
9 (SDA) = 1.0 (note, it only read 0.5 the 2nd time I measured it just now)
11 (SCL) = 3.7
13 (GND) = 0.0
15 (B13v) = 14.7
17 (B13v) = 14.7
19 (VAMP) = 14.7
21 (VAMP) = 14.7
23 (GND) = 0.0
25. (B5v) = 6.1
27 (B5v) = 6.1
Now, the evens:
2 (SD) = 3.7 (note, this pin does not have a wire leading to the main board: it is empty)
4! (CONTACT) = 3.7
6 (VAMP) = 14.9
8 (STT) = 3.7
10 (DATA) = 3.7
12 (UHR) = 3.7
14 (EN0) = 3.7
16. (VSYNC_) = 3.7
18 (B13v) = 14.6
20 (BLUONOFF) = 5.5
22 (GND) = 0.0
24. (GND) = 0.0
26 (A5v) = 6.0
28. (PWRONOFF) = 3.5
They all look to be in order to me except for the SDA. Please inform if I am not correct on this.
lotias ~ I’m pretty sure this is not a plasma tv set or a plasma PS board in any way. You could be right, but everything I’ve ever read indicates that it is an LED television.
It is sometimes listed as an LED LCD Series (LCD Panel) as you’ll find in this article:
Features
The Samsung 60" 8000 Full HD Smart 3D LED TV features a 2D/3D LCD panel with 1920 x 1080p Full HD resolution, Ultra-Slim LED backlighting and a very high Clear Motion Rate of 1200 that promotes sharp detail and contrast - even when watching sports and action movies.
Re: Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA ~ No Picture or Sound - 5 Res Light Blinks
Yes, that’s the Catch-22.
But if I knew how to attempt a jump of the backlights on then at least that stands a chance of them coming on and eliminating them from the problematic picture.
It’s always frustrating when the fault design allows for the 5 red blinks to be EITHER the PS supply OR the backlights. That, at least, appears to be the case with the fault codes.
Would be so much easier if the backlights not working would produce their own, singular fault code on the red front LED light. Like, say ……. 6 red blinks. Would save mountains of time.
Seems like I would need to try to jump the BLUONOFF pin to another pin, but not sure which one, exactly, would at least attempt to ignite the backlights. Any ideas / experiences would help.
Re: Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA ~ No Picture or Sound - 5 Res Light Blinks
I don't know about this exact model but some will have voltage at the backlight connector pins with that connector unhooked, maybe if you have 0 voltage on those pins then it could be no voltage coming from the power supply, it's hard to believe nobody here has dealt with an f8000 before.
Re: Samsung UN60F8000BFXZA ~ No Picture or Sound - 5 Res Light Blinks
You can test the backlights without them being connected, this guy is using 9 volt batteries, I've done it, before getting a tester: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNqRZ2qaDJY

Thanks, nomore ~
That’s very interesting. Never saw that video before. I’m going to gather up some 9v batteries and give that a try. I’ve got the 100 Ohm resistor but may need to purchase the finer point probes.
But this seems like the easiest, most seamless way to test these various LED strips without the risk of damaging other boards or components.
