    Your experience illustrates the difficulties in attempting to fix a set someone else has been into. I KNOW setting the scan voltages too high can cause a shutdown, I just never thought of it in this instance.

        Ok, I have the same problem sort of. I get 3 blinks and A12 UVP error. I have replaced the power supply and get the same problem. Any ideas?

            I am having the same problem sort of, While the TV is on it turns off and back on real quickly the light on the front stays green the whole time. This happens every 5 mins or so. Im thinking about taking it apart and replacing the power board. Anyone know of a better idea ?

                yea, properly diagnose the problem. Spending money on parts that "may not" be bad, is a bad idea.

                    Everything looks, ok no burnt wires or blown capacitors or anything, where would you start next the power board or the main or ?

                        I have a Vizio VP50 HDTV20A which starts and sounds great, but the picture is very fuzzy (like rainy). Does anyone have the same problem? I am willing to say it is cause by a malfunction of the PCB (Power Control Board) but want to get a second opinion.

                            I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                            Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                            I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                            The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                            With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                            I have a Sony Bravia KDL-40Z4500 which shows a colored vertical stripes pattern when turning on, with a central black shadow that slowly dissipates within the first 10 seconds.

                            Photo of the situation after the black shadow dissipates:

                            After this behavior the red LED will blink 9 times, then pause for a bit, and blink again 9 times, in a loop.

                            I checked the manual (available here) and this corresponds to "HFR error", quoting from the manual:

                            Hi.

                            picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
                            When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
                            This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED...

                            This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

                            After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
