    Sony XBR-65X850E No Power

Tv won't turn on. Not sure if there is a standby light on this TV but I'm not seeing any.

Checked the usual diodes that go bad and all test good. When plugged in 2 show 100v and the other 2 50v when plugged in.

    Below is reading for CN6401

    1) 0v - blinking
    2) 0v - pwm1 dimmer
    3) 0v - DC dimmer
    4) 0v - 0wm2 dimmer
    5) 3.5v - Standby
    6) 0v - pwm3 dimmer
    7) 0v - BL On
    8) 2.6v BL Error
    9) 3.5v PWR On

    10-12,19-24) 0v - ground

    13-18) 12v all pins - 12v reg

    25) 0v - tcon vcc 12v

    27-28) .5v - tcon vcc 12v

    26) 0v - tcon on

Also I tested backlights with my tester and all pins show 119v. So assuming they're good but not positive since I get 2.6v on bl err pin.

I know a lot of these Sony have bad emmc also but not sure how to confirm if that's my problem.

Check all the fuses, there are a lot of them on the board with the designation "Fxxx", there is a duty LED, turn off the Wi-Fi module, measure the resistance on the HDMI signal lines relative to ground...

I measured all fuses and they test good. I couldn't find the fuse labeled F2800 to measure it. They're so small and really hard to see.

I removed the Wi-Fi card and measured resistance on HDMI and got 5-6 ohm on all 4.

I posted a close up of the fuse I can't find. Maybe someone else will see it and point it out.

But 5-6 Om is a short circuit, this should not be, if this is the case, then only a processor replacement or a motherboard replacement.

Ok, I was leaning towards a bad mainboard but didn’t know how to confirm.

I appreciate your help. Is there anywhere to buy processor?

Here it is better to look for the motherboard, since Sony is linking the processor and eMMC firmware by ID ...

Appreciate the help. I can’t seem to find a main board so I’m sending out for repair to a reputable guy in North Carolina. I’ll post back after I get the board back

Just got the board back and everything works. It was the emmc that failed as usual.

eMMC Flash combines NAND memory with a built-in controller that handles most of the things you have to take care of when dealing with NAND flash. eMMC is also called managed NAND.

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
                      by Daren87
                      Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

                      Sony KD-55X9000F TCON Issue
                      by thelankanguy
The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...

                      Sony KD-55AG9 TCON?
                      by bbrain
                      Hi,

I have this problem with my Sony 55' AG9.
                      It flashes 4x.
I have found the service manual, and seems it is the TCON.

Before I buy a TCON can someone check the vid?

                      Thanks in advance!...

Sony KD-65x8500b - bad Tcon or panel?
                      by rimwall
Hi, hoping for some views on this one which I've not come across before. The TV generates an image that has 12 noticeable bands across it. The image is still there and accurate, but the colour (or perhaps the brightness) changes gradually across each band which creates a noticeable 'step change' at the edge of each band. Given it's a 4K TV with 2160 rows of pixels, I'm guessing the 12 bands correspond to 12 gate drivers of 180 rows each. If this guess is right, then perhaps:
                      a) all the gate drivers are malfunctioning the same way (which seems unlikely), or
                      b) the Tcon board is malfunctioning,...

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...
