Excellent! Perhaps doing the power supply will stop the buzzing...? Or, it could be a poorly/loosely wound transformer and nothing you do will stop the buzz. Can you identify the noisy part?

Sounds like the noise is coming near these "transformers"? Hard to tell which one. See Picture!

The TV has been on all day today, Still not convinced it is fixed completely since I had a hard time getting it to reproduce the issue this last time I disassembled the TV. I'll let it cook for awhile longer to see. Thanks.

I don't think there is much you can do about it. As I said, if they are poorly made, the buzzing will be more noticeable. If the power supply has caps that are on the "bad" list, I would recap it now, while you have it open. I don't think it can hurt.

Tough to respond to that list. Can't cut/paste picture.... :p

Series seems missing on many. Rubycon is a 2 or 3 letter code from what I've seen. PX, MBZ, MCZ, etc.

PET is the plastic used for the sleeve. "Polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE)" Same plastic for water bottles, soda... The number "1" inside the resin mark on plastic recyclable items.

I'd venture that any decent manufacturer with an ESR of around .035 ohm or so would be a good choice. Good ripple handling very important too. Panasonic FC. FM may be considered overkill, but they would work too. Some times they are cheaper also.

Nichicon HE, PW, or PM, UCC KY (already there), and KZE. UCC is not named on their caps, but has a little shield mark.

Going to need sizes as there are quite a few under the heat sinks so post up the dimensions (D x H) in mm's. Note the max height that will fit under them.

I will update the list into a text format. I couldn't paste the table into the replies is why I uploaded the pictures.

Are you saying the Nichicon HE, PW, or PM, UCC KY are the ones to purchase as replacements along with Panasonic FC and FM's?

Pour varnish into them, let dry, done. This always works for me.

                  ...and KZE.

Any of those are suitable for use here.

I just got done repairing one of these sets today. (Vizio VO42L)

I want to add a little help to someone in the future with this set.

After checking the two electrolytic's on both of the inverters, check these parts (See attatchment - red box) and measure resistance. There are four of them. They should read somewhere around 8.5K ohms. Sorry, I rushed through the repair and didnt write down what the part is. If they read significantly lower, then the BD9897FS chip (boxed in green) is bad and needs replaced. Replacing it is a task in itself but it can be done with the right tools.

Note: Without the BD9897FS chip on the board, these other four components (in red) will measure approx 10K across them. Each of those four will measure open (infinite) if they were alone off of the board. They have a 10K resistor in parallel to them. The chip is also in that circuit bringing the resistance down to 8.5K. In my case, I had one measure 63 ohms across one of the four. Changed the chip, and now it reads 8.5K.

                    Good luck!

What is this part you removed? Your link doesn't work.

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen

I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                          Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

So our beloved M60-C3 up and died the other day. I was not there, my wife mentioned that it came on, displayed the logo, then showed the right half of the screen white and fuzzy, with the left half of the screen ok. However when I got around to looking at it, the screen would not come on at all. The indicator LED will come on, then dim a bit. After a while, the LED might blink a bunch of times. I can't get it to be consistent to do that.

So I've got the back off and am checking voltages. The capacitors on the power supply board visually check out. No bulges or anything. They all show...

Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...
