    Is this screen cracked?

I've never seen a screen cracked like this and still have a perfect picture.

Maybe it's the diffuser cracked like on some of the Samsung NU series.

Just curious what you guys think. TV is for sale in my area and thinking of maybe trying my luck.

Wanted some other opinions before I pull the trigger

posting this without a model # and asking for help ? screen is definitely cracked. Odd - yes but tv is still use-able. depends what your using it for. Not fixable

      Re: Is this screen cracked?

      I don’t have the model #. It’s an 8K TV. That’s all I know.

How can you be sure it’s not the diffuser?

its crack at the 3rd layer of the LCD. cells will remain displaying color as it should . the crack will be more noticeable at black / dark picture.
one time i did 55 repaired BL and at time put panel back its curved and the same crack happened at the middle. but Panel remain displaying full picture over the crack.

          Re: Is this screen cracked?

I suspect it has a front covering hard sheet like gorilla glass but it broke.. don't buy this unless you know a company that replaces it.. you can see it by the boubble near the crack, maybe it craked because of a temperature shock, the screen glass has maybe a different dilatation factor..

Would make a nice big security monitor for the vision impaired, even for regular vision people, nice to have a big screen for split screen viewing from multiple cameras.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
                by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
                by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️
                by ipatch
i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...

                Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
