It could be a bad panel, maybe something else hard to tell but from the looks I wouldn't be too optimistic, if it's bad panel it's junk, worth very little, maybe just for parts and can be hard to tell what parts may be good, in that condition.

      Re: Hitachi 50HK6100U Screen fault?

The price was reduced to £15 so I bought it thinking I can sell the parts if I can't get it working. I removed the right hand side cable from the T-con board and I get a good clean half black and half white screen. If I plug and aerial in I get a slightly polorised picture but no striping. When I removed the left hand side cable from the T-con board and plug the right hand side back in, I get striping and no picture. I tried the tape trick but it didn't work. I tested all the caps on the screen buffer boards but there are no shorts. I tested the T-con board (CCPD-TC495-008 V4.0) and Vcom is 6.8v VGL is -5.8 VGH is 24v and VDD is 15.2v.

The firmware will not help, the problem is in the panel.

maybe try tape cut-off method, can check the little mlc caps on panel driver boards for shorts or very low ohms, been over both procedures many many times here.

The right side is not working. Let him turn off the left side and connect the right side and post a photo of the image.

Ukdigger take a high-quality photo of the completely left bar (when viewed from the back of the TV) and the T-con board.

Pictures with right hand side cable removed, as viewed from the back of the TV. In my original post it should have said left cable removed gives a picture.
The screen changes from one picture to the other every couple of seconds

Can you take clearer photos of a non-working bar, otherwise you got very muddy ones?

You can measure the resistance of these test points to ground (GND) with the cable disconnected from the T-CON.

They all read 1.58 in diode mode
I checked the other board and they all read 1.57 apart from 2 which read 1.56

Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                                          Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

                                          Hitachi 50HK6100U display issue

I own a Hitachi 50HK6100U with a display fault. After some troubleshooting, I've found that removing one tcon cable produces a clear image on the side still connected. Removing the other tcon still provides display output; however, this is a heavily distorted image. With both cables connected, only the top ~25% of the screen provides display output which is still distorted. It's only when both are connected that most of the screen no longer provides output. The attached images show the screen with each tcon cable disconnected, and one with both connected. The red line shows where the display cuts...

As stated by the person I collected the TV from, it just stopped working overnight. However, I still gave it a go to try and repair it.

There is a thread on the same TV but with slightly different issues where they had to tape connection points on the ribbon cable, so I want to see if this is repairable by any chance.

After bringing it home and plugging it in, the TV turned on with its backlight working but had no picture. After removing the back cover, the first thing I tried is to unplug one of the ribbon cables and the situation is as follows.

                                          Left...

Red patches on screen. Driver fault???
                                          by MarkC1970
I have a strange fault that I need help understanding. The TV is run with a PCB labelled TP.MS6486.PB711.

As you will see in the pictures there is a red patch over the right hand side of the screen that is far more visible on a black background but never goes away. It appears like it is some sort of driver fault but I don't know enough about how these panels are driven to even guess where to start looking. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
