Sony KD-65X7000E - Screen double images for first few minutes then back to normal

    Hi,
I have gotten this Sony KD-65X7000E TV completely dead. According to owner TV was working fine and suddenly blackout and not able to power on again.
Checked and found D751 rectifying diode shorted, replaced and now power up and working almost normally:

    1) On power up - display double images, and flicker once every few seconds.
    2) After 3-4 minutes at this state - display suddenly back to perfectly normal (although there are few horizontal lines at the bottom of screen).
    3) Leaving on for few minutes, power off and on again will repeat the same issue; but leaving it on for longer (like >30 mins) then power off and on again will not have this issue.

I experimented with T-Con ribbon cables during cold start:
    1) Disconnected left-side cable - right-side display still double images
    2) Disconnected right-side cable - left-side display is good.
    3) Swopped the 2 ribbon cables - not difference
    3) Taped a small section on the right-side cable - display is normal at cold start also.

Initial googling research seems to indicate shorted signal(s) path between left and right sides of panel PCBs, and taping method seems to have eliminated it. But why, presumably, after TV has wormed up the issue goes away?

Any insight into why the display is normal few minutes after cold-start?

maybe check the little mlc capacitors on the faulty side panel driver board for shorts or very low ohms.

Will do and report back later when it's setup properly.
          *with power off presumably ?

Just want to be sure this is not a potential root cause:
The shorted D751 was a SB5150 - a 5A 150v diode, and was replaced with a 6A 200v diode unknow brand from local hardware shop.

Would this caused the symptoms observed?

                SB5150 is Schottky Diode

I am not well verse with electronic components... Does it mean it must be replaced with this exact part number?

Doesn't seem like there would be much difference, best way is to look up both datasheets and compare.

No benchtop space to lay flat the huge TV, so tried remove all the screws while standing the TV upright - can't seems to remove the cover plates to access the shielded the LCD driver boards...

Checked and can't see any significant differences between SB5150 and SR5200
                        other than the voltages...
Also can't find SB5150 from the usual online shops, so will just get 4x SR5120 to try out.

could you show us the mainboards?

did you warm up the mb with hair dryer then turn on ?

Be careful, easy to break those screens.

Ok, I bet it's similar to this 60X690E, if so it's tougher than most to get to those boards, being that you can't easily lay it down, might want to try all other troubleshooting before tackling that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr42F0JYq38

something to try, go into menu and try turning backlights very low, if no backlight adjustment try turning the brightness down, see if the double image changes any.

Although if you could get it down that far it would be easy to apply a little pressure around the tab bonds and see if the picture clears up, of course while testing all the boards need to be connected.
